Remember when we had multiple posters say Brennan can run/move just as well as Burrow?

Because I remember

CBP3110:
quote:

Brennan is actually more mobile than Burrow, just watch.

geauxtigers810:
quote:

I think Brennan is a little quicker

Penrod:
quote:

I would peg them as very equal running the ball.

geauxcoco:
quote:

One of Brennan’s strengths is his legs

(to be fair this last one he said he wasn't as good as Burrow, but still said his legs are a strength)

They even said this on the broadcast before the game started. It was pretty clear they got some smoke blown up their asses and didn't actually see the players in practice.

It truly never ceases to amaze me how dumb a huge portion of our fans are.

Anyone who tries to sell his legs as a strength were gravely mistaken

He isn’t as mobile as Joe but I thought He did a good job escaping the pocket at times

The issue was he would sometimes do it when he didn’t have to and when he did he wasnt looking downfield.

That includes 99% of the posters on this board. Madden jockeys that have no idea what real football is about.

Well, LSU's offense and defense going against each other in practice, based on Saturday's visuals could have provided false hope.

In all reality, it's not like we saw Brennan running much and it's not like anyone can just camp out at practice. I'm not even sure we saw more than 10 minutes combined of practice videos this year. Now I know why. Brennan isn't faster or anywhere close to athletic as Burrow. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the linemen could out run him.

Brennan moves as well as a rheumatoid arthritis patient.

Brennan isn’t as slow as some of you make him out to be. His biggest problem isn’t speed. It’s decisiveness. Joe wasn’t that fast, but he was always thinking a step ahead and when he made a decision, he instantly committed. He made the most of his athletic ability that way.

It’s hard to tell with Miles, because he was tentative a LOT on Saturday. I saw one play where things fell apart and he stepped up decisively and picked up positive yards. The problem is, he doesn’t do that often enough. You could just feel him second guessing everything out there, even scrambling. That will neutralize whatever athletic ability he does have.

burrow knew WHEN to run, which can make up for speed/agility issues.

I saw one play in 3rd or 4th quarter where he was trying to scramble, but it looked like he his feet were velcro'd to the turf....it was very odd seeing him try to shuffle around before being sacked....he reminded me of a quote from basic training, "he moves like his body is connected with rubberbands and some have busted"

Yeah. Well, Brennan took all of about 1 qtr to prove that's not even remotely true. He looked like total dogshit.

Every one of those posters are probably right. Brennan's liability in mobility is more from his indecision than from his actual speed/agility. He is just not processing at the speed of the game at this level, just yet.

I said Brennen is faster than Burrow (and I still maintain that)

However, I also said Brennan needs at least 1/2 of Burrow's runners instinct.

At this point, he's 1/2 away from being 1/2 way to Burrow.

We also had posters claiming that the playoff committe had it right in dropping LSU to #2 last year. Now that was a serious crime and ridiculously bumping up all bog 10 teams Ohio State played to justify the ranking.

Now this is the thought process that is more troubling than someone trying to guess the speed of Brennan
