Who'd have thought, after we laughed at Clemson, made fun of their "Death Valley" and their Tiger Rag, that we'd be an also ran and they'd be a perennial Nat'l Championship contender in a few short seasons.

Glad to see Bama lose but, it's sobering to see where the two programs (Clemson and LSU) have gone since that bowl game in 2012.

Les gave them the confidence/want to get them over the top when he gave the bowl game away. We all watched it in real time and knew what happened, but didnt realize the ramifications.

I agree with you're post. It is indeed sobering. But I have a feeling that LSU is headed in the right direction now. Hopefully, good times lay ahead for us LSU fans.

They're currently a better program than LSU. Just look at the last 5 years .

Won the Orange Bowl in 2013. Won a playoff semifinal last year and went to the national title. Shut out an elite program in a semifinal game this year, and then dethroned Alabama to win a national championship.

What is LSU's biggest accomplishment in the last 5 years? Is it the Texas Bowl trophy, or the Buffalo Wild Wings trophy?

I was thinking of that earlier.

Remember after the game being like "FCUK, we just got beat by Dabo the dork Sweeny. Terrible loss to an inferior opponent"

Now it looks as if Dabo is a top5 or even top3 couch. Dude has been dominate for a while.

And look at them leading up until that game. WVU smoked them in the orange bowl the year prior.

I was at that game in the Georgia Dome that night as well. After that game I was thinking the same exact thing as you. I couldn't believe we lost to such an inferior program..............especially after having such a good season and just barely missing winning the SEC West title. Seems like ages ago now..............................

LSU was so cocky because of the talent we had that year (OBJ, Landry, hill, mett, minter, Simon, Reid ). But we underestimated Clemson's talent. They had Sammy Watkins, DeAndre Hopkins, martavis Bryant, Andre Ellington, tahj Boyd and Stefan Anthony.

Or maybe our fans need to realize LSU isn't the only program worth a damn. Complaining about playing in the chicken bowl against shitty Clemson.

Honestly, we could have seen it coming. Clemson was amassing talent on both sides of the ball and LSU was losing talent from that special defensive unit that was so great from 2010-2012. They were on the way up and we were on the way down.

No one should have been laughing. Miles & Saban were not paying attention to changes in the game and Miles said he was surprised with Tajh Boyd's heroics. Well those started the year before with Chad Morris who Watson thanked for training and recruiting him. Clem has average around 4500 yds passing since then, lost a grand total of 7 ACC Conference Games in 6 yrs, won 5 Divison Titles, 3 Conference Titles, and played in back-to-back CFP NCG games. Sweeney is 41-7 since 2011 ACC, 70-13 Overall with 10, 11, 11, 10, 14, 14 win seasons. He said Clem will be the New ALA and he has no interest in returning there after Saban.
