Not bad for a player who has 3.5 years of eligibility left, plays behind a suspect line, and no semblance of a running game. If it wasn’t for Joe Burrow, most would be saying he would be tGOAT LSU QB by the end of his junior year. 23/4 after 6 games is crazy good.

Really a testament to Coach Eaux and Coach Peetz putting him in position to be successful

He will over time. How much better would it be without the drops and bad oline allowing pressure on many of his throws? And he has only started 6 games! Let’s lower the bar until he has played a full season.

Not bad for just 6 starts. I see him growing week to week

Can’t wait until they start running read option with him

He also needs more audible freedom at the line.

Missed some throws but most upsetting is he puts too much air when going deep. One more yard and that pick would've probably been 6 for LSU.

He has 3.5 seasons left should he choose play them all. Call him what you want. Most young players are in the same boat.

Solid post but Max is a sophomore. Your points are all still valid.

If the receivers would do a better job of catching the ball his stats would be better.

His numbers are great regardless. Just seems weird that you’d focus on him being a freshman when he’s a sophomore academically and has been in the program for 1.5 seasons.

I treat him like a red shirt FRESHMAN. SAME amount of eligibility left. Crazy this is the issue people are focusing on.

He can't pickup where a blitz comes from, and shift line assignment (he and his olines quotes). Why would you give him more audible freedom?

His stats are great. Passing scheme is great, wr talent is great. He needs to improve footwork, mechanics, accuracy (especially 5 yd hitches ), and stop jumping when he throws. All of it leads to him under throwing or bad accuracy. If he can play and throw like that first drive against st, watch the f out.

More rpo, add some read options. Think both give relief to bad oline and take pressure off him to make every throw

Anybody who doesn't have an appreciation for what Max Johnson has done so far in his very early career just doesn't get it.

Some of the receivers have also bailed out bad passes, so it’s probably a wash.

His Dad, Brad Johnson, 4 year career at Florida state had a total of 14 TDs and 9 Ints.
Of course went on to the nfl
