I'm not reading the latest eight page thread about why people leave the game early. But for me, this new clock on the field says it all. I'm reminded every dead ball that I have to sit on my arse and sweat for two minutes and forty seconds when I could be refreshing my drink at the house. And if I get out of my seat to go to the concession stand, the lazy arse workers remind me that there are no lines at my house. Take the red hat guy and his sign off the field and let's play football. Watching a game in person has become miserable.

Get ready for Johnny Superfan to come tell you that you aren’t a true fan, but that’s exactly right. It’s a pain in the arse and not a fun experience anymore. Just isn’t.

They should use that for the game clock. It never seems to crap out.

I'm willing to bet that this is the case at most stadiums. Minus a few special games like the Penn St white out game.

Same here. At least I know for how long the red hat guy is on the field.

I think it will become more commonplace to not sell out stadiums, even for big games, in the future as this generation becomes the main ticket-buying patrons. They have the attention span of an ADD squirrel. They need to be stimulated every minute they’re not sleeping.

Or athletic departments could try giving fans what they want instead of just selling out for the quick dollar.

I thinks both of these are valid.
