Really happy to see Tyler Shelvin progression

Young man has matured and was a great teammate last night. He looks like he’s in great shape and impacted the game all night. Happy to see the young man produce.

He steadily improved down the stretch last year and was great in the bowl game. He’s already light years from Valentine. Try to keep up.

I heard a caller on the radio after the game bitching that he thought Shelvin didn’t do shite in the game and that we need to play Ika because Shelvin didn’t get a lot of attention during the game. I thought that meant he did his job nicely. When we hear about the nose tackle it’s usually because he’s getting blown off the ball. Shelvin held his blocks nicely, commanded the center and gaurd to block him all night, and had nice burst off the snap. Ika may have the higher ceiling in talent but right now Shelvin is more game ready for SEC play.

I saw Shelvin bend their center almost in half with his first punch at least three times during the game.

He looked strong at the point of attack taking on blockers, and got upfield disrupting plays. Looking fwd to seeing this D unleashed, in total, for 4 qtrs vs TX. Hammer Down!
