Really- Why should Jimbo preemptively matter?

Reputation means dog shite until you prove it on the field. The truth is, the SEC as of late is a coach-killer. I wouldn't look for Jimbo to waltz in and immediately turn A&M into some type of monster- he's not a cure-all.

For all our bitching, WE haven't had a 5-6 season in BR this century, and aren't going to for quite a while. Can't say that about Tallahassee.

Bring it, cutes.

I bet those FL State fans said this last year too.

Looking at next year's schedule its a possibility that we could end up 5-6 hell could have been that way this season.

Scared that LSU will be on the downward trend that everyone was pissing and moaning about with Miles, hell yes I'm scared but thankfully football is only a hobby so I wont lose sleep over it

You think battling him for recruits is a good thing? Lol

This isn’t going to crush lsu but it’s jot good to have another great coach in this conference

We could also go undefeated and win it all. The MRL could breach by LSU and cancel the season. Emma Watson could come to BR and beg me to raw dog her in Tiger Stadium. I can keep making up hypotheticals.

Jimbo's team DID suck dog arse this year. That's no hypothetical.

Well, it does make an impression on the direction of the program, and how outsiders (including recruits) see things.

We fired Miles in week 4, had over half the season to get someone. We got no-thanked by Jimbo, and outbid on for Herman.
So we kept O, and at least we could bring in Kiffin to run the offense... whoops, no.

A&M fired Sumlin, and in a week hired the guy we weren't willing to pay enough to get.

So now, A&M looks serious, and we look like we're ok with going 9-3, especially if the governor can ride to the Tennessee game with the team.

He is a good coach. He had one great year. Les had 2.

He’s had more than 1 good year, and FSU was a mess when he took over. He’s a top 10 coach & will be a threat to LSU.

I'm more worried about Jimbo recruiting in Texas.

LSU has made significant in-roads in Texas, especially Houston, during the decline of the Longhorns & Aggies.

I'd hate to see that end abruptly.

Good news: It's open season in Florida.

We already were. FSU recruited TX (and everywhere else) quite well.

Here's a question, since some like to use the "what if" scenario so often, and lament about LSU being "satisfied" with going 9-3:
Would LSU fans have been pleased and tolerant if Jimbo had come in, Danny got injured, and we were sitting at 5-6 going into the A&M game?

I think we know the answer to that one.

And how does that happen to a HC with the reputation as The QB Whisperer, anyway?

Yeah, maybe they should have gone after a coach like Jimbo Fisher, last year.

But not with the guy who it just happened to at FSU in command, right?

A&M has the #10 recruiting class right now. Wonder if Jimbo brings anyone there with him.

Aggies are getting hammered on Sirius/XM College Sports radio. In their words “ $75M for second or third in the West but that’s their standards.

Exactly what analytical facts are using to predict a downward trend. You got to be stupid not to think LSU is not on up tic.

My point is he’ll do well in TX and we’ll have to play him every year. And TX has been better to us than FL. We didn’t have to play FSU

Jimbo recruited TX and LA and frankly I think FSU was an easier sale than the Aggies.

too much unjustified drama.

I dont think FSU was an easier sale. Probably equal. He just had an easier road in the ACC.

A&M has great facilities and obviously are committed to winning at any cost, given this contract he just signed. They are at worst going to be an Auburn-like opponent in the West and not the sure fire win we've been getting the last 5-6 years

It also helped ATM that Fisher lol’d out this season at fa state record-wise just because he lost his QB. Good chance for him to start fresh. But if we hired him now, you best believe that’d be a huge question mark for me on him going forward: “Why does your team implode COMPLETELY when you lose your starting QB?”

At least O trended upward in a big way after his rough start, and in the meat of the season no less.
