No, im not talking playoffs or an epic win in Tuscaloosa. We didnt suddenly become world beaters.

What I am talking about is 9-3. Winning out except for Bama.

And a question is.. Will that get us as a program our first NY6 bid? Thats a pretty respectable goal.

Probably not if Georgia keeps playing as well as they have.

I mean, the goal should be to win out. The team shouldn't plan on losing to Bama.

I think maybe you mean realistic expectations.

No question about it

Started a similar thread yesterday:

9-3. Get there. No excuses.

We're talking fan goals here, at least I am.

Damn right the team should expect and be planning to shock the world in Tuscaloosa.

if we can go 4-1 the rest of the way it will be a success of a season.

I think we would need to go on a tear and have to have some major buzz around us. These bowl committees like a team with some buzz

You also need to remember that the #2 SEC school will not automatically go to the Sugar Bowl this year (Because it's part of the CFB Playoff)

It'll be success in development of young players for next season. It will be success in the ability to rise from the ashes.

Losses by as bad as we did at Miss State and at home to Troy, however, never should be in the same sentence with the words "successful season".

I don't know if I would say it's a "success of a season". It would certainly be a great turnaround though.

Despite the last two weeks you can't forget a blowout loss against an avg/good MSU team and a home loss to Troy that could have been worse than the score indicated. The SEC isn't very good and the schedule, outside of going to Bama, was set up for a 10 win season.

It would probably be hard for LSU to get to a NY6 Bowl at 9-3 (assuming Georgia doesn't collapse down the stretch). Realistically, I think a game like the Citrus Bowl is the top prize out there for a 9-3 LSU. But, I wouldn't really look at the prestige of the bowl game to determine LSU's success. I suspect even if eligible, the Citrus Bowl would pass on LSU just because LSU was there last season.

9-3 means that O was able to hold the team together when it looked for all the world they were going to quit. It earns him the benefit of the doubt to say "let's see what happens next year."

that would help us shore up the '18 recruiting class and win back a few that are shaky right now...definitely need to win out, it would show we are building for the future.

Give Bama a great game and either push them to the limit like last year or win out and the sky's the limit.

If Bama and UGA are a combined 25-1 after the SECCG, they're both going to the playoff

It shouldn't.

Obviously best case scenario is we do what SC did last year and beat everyone. What would be ideal though, if we lose to Bama:

Georgia wins out and barely beats Bama in the SEC championship game. 2 SEC schools in playoff

Or

Georgia loses to Auburn and Ga Tech. Bama beats Auburn and then georgia in the SEC championship.

In both of those scenarios we would finish the highest ranked SEC team, outside of Bama, and go to the sugar bowl.

Since it's part of the NY6 line-up/CFP Rotational it would be very nice to land in this bowl especially with a young team and a first year coach.
