Deep RB corps next year with Emery, CEH, Curry, Davis, Lanard, Provens.

I know O is loyal to his upperclassmen and CEH may start first game, but I can't see how Emery won't end up with the most carries next season. Will be interesting to see which 2 or 3 man rotation emerges.

The freshman and CEH are a cut above the others. I think that’s your top 3.

Fournette is good as a change of pace or 3rd down back. He doesn’t get a lot of respect because people think he’s a charity case for his brother, but the guy is a player.

He’s apparently the 2nd fastest guy on the team.

I think he’s gonna be a player for us. There’s a reason they throw him the rock

I thought Fournette should have gotten more carries this year.

Fournette looked good when he got touches. I'm surprised he didn't play more than he did.

Whomever learns the pass protection schemes will play. That is where the upperclassmen have an advantage.

I wonder if they could bulk up Curry and move him to FB behind Carter. Dude is physical and runs angry, if they could transition that to blocking.

I agree. One of the reasons I ‘m not crazy about Robinson.Wish he would have gotten a few more chances.Thought he hit the hole quicker,

I also think Davis might get the most carried out of the younger guys.He will be a load.

To start:

CEH
Lanard
Emery
Curry/Davis
Provens

Emery is in all likelihood the most talented, but remember there was a freshman learning curve even for Leonard.

And then there’s pass protection, which I’d love to see Lanard master so he can be a 3rd down type back who you don’t know is going to block, run a route, or take a draw.

Let me see if I can break it down with the analytical word-smithian style of many of our rant brethren:

little baw's gonna start early, and will be over taken by big baw and and 4 star big baw. Little buga's gonna see some time, and they all comin', baws.

Seriously, though, I like Clyde, but I'd like to see him used more in the screen game, and if Emery and Davis are as good as advertised, even with inexperience, I'd like to see them share the main load of carries. I'm proud of the season Brossette had, after all of his obstacles, but it nevertheless seemed like Clyde should have gotten more carries this year. I hope Orgeron doesn't make a habit of playing favorites like Miles did.

Lanard
Straight baller.

Has done nothing but quietly and patiently get bigger and stronger, and develop his maturity and skill.

Another off season under the weights and he can definitely be a 3rd down and situational back. He's been loyal and I never thought he was a charity case, but more a solid depth builder. He could be starting for any number of smaller schools and I admire his loyalty.

Lanard showed me a lot of potential, in spite of his lack of playing time. His speed and quickness were surprising.

But I really can't judge his vision, strength or understanding of the offense, given that he only played in mop up duty. The physical tools seem to be there.

I expect O to start Helaire the first game of the season just for respect to the upper class but Emery will be the lead back soon after. The spot i am more curious about is who will take over the between the tackles bruiser that LSU is so famous for. Tyrion Davis has it written all over him but don’t discount Chris Curry. I love how angry Curry runs and still has plenty of speed for being a 230lb RB. I could see Curry shocking a lot of people next year.

Yall that are discounting Davis bc he is a few spot lower in ranking than emery are stupid. He's a really good back. He may be the next great LSU rb.

Never discounted Davis. I know he's talented. Both of these freshman could be elite. It's a nice problem to have.
