Should have been Michigan. I am sure UF lobbied the REC hard about not putting them in a game with UCF.

Peach or Fiesta? I’ll take the Fiesta every time and deal with the team we have to play. Not exactly like UCF is happy with playing us. This is basically the bowl matchup that nobody wants, not the Bowl, not TV and certainly neither of the schools.

I prefer the Fiesta over the Peach since LSU has never gone. Just wish Michigan was the opponent. That doesn't mean that I'm not excited to play UCF

I'm always excited when lsu is playing. Cant wait to watch the game. UCF is a new and exciting matchup for us.

1. No bowl game really gets me “excited”. Outside of the playoffs they are all just glorified exhibition games. However, if you can’t make the playoffs, the NY6 is at least better than the lower tier bowl.
2. The Fiesta bowl is ACTUALLY on New Year’s Day as opposed to the Peach Bowl. The traditionalists in me prefers seeing my team play on Jan. 1
3. UCF is a more exciting opponent (in terms of style of play) and will probably be more motivated than Mich. would have been. Objectively, I think Mich vs LSU would have been a boring game (even though Mich is a much more “name brand” opponent).
4. For at least the last 3 decades the Fiesta Bowl has been one of the traditionally “big” Bowl games and LSU has never played in it. At least there is the novelty of a new venue vs a bowl LSU has played in several times.

I guess that I'm one of the few who believe that the matchup with Michigan...both because it's never happened AND because they have one of if not THE most dillusional fan bases in all of sports...would be a marque marchup REGARDLESS of what happened against OSU

At first I wanted Michigan way more, since ucf lost its qb. I wanted to play a blue blood. But Michigan really isn't shite this year or really any year lately, ucf is on the brink of 25 in a row.
They also think they'll wipe us out big time. My minds changed, I'm excited as hell to beat ucf and shut them up once and for all.

TV loves big audiences.

Something to whine about, OP, is if LSU was in no bowl, or no NYD6 bowl. Whining about who we play in the Fiesta is really, really... well, descriptive words fail. Maybe obnoxious?
