Anybody else surprised how hard they shite on LSU when we were first announced at #7?

Herbie said something like: "LSU is just taking up space in the top 10 at this point. Even if they win at A&M, they are a placeholder until conference champions blow past them"

Then the rest of the crew piled on as if LSU was some low budget Division II school. It was pretty bizzare.

Well, we failed to score a single point against Bama.

I noticed that as well.

Rece Davis basically said that "from here on out, LSU is irrelevant. Nice season guys, but we won't be talking about you anymore".

I’m not sure what part that was because then the question was brought up if chaos does indeed happen, who should the final playoff spot go to? Almost all of them unanimously said LSU should get the spot over UCF and Ohio St.

Main reason is because of our resume which a lot of people feel is trash now.

Conspiracy theory is they are being kept high enough to help out Georgia.

On the flip side Oklahoma and tOSU have great offenses and HS level defenses. I get that offense is more sexy, but it's the same equation.

LSU’s defense isn’t elite this year. DL is not elite. Offense has many more problems than the coaches. This recruiting class is looking good though.

Steve E is not the OC we need and has a poorly ranked offense and like it not most of the media is still not sold on Coach O

Only Aranda and a talented defense has us ranked were we are

Right exactly. This is what made it so bizzare to me.

It is interesting how different people hear the same thing differently.

I didn't take anything said as "shitting" on LSU or being hard on LSU. They all simply stated the FACT that IF Washington State wins out (including a conference champ game) they will likely go ahead of LSU. Same MIGHT be said for tOSU (though, they were a bit less certain there). They DOUBTED that UCF would even with a conference champ game win.

As already stated, they pretty much agreed that IF 'chaos' happens, LSU would be likely one to go in.

They were just stating facts that LSU can only tread water from #7 unless a series of really crazy things occur. Others have OPPORTUNITIES to go ahead of LSU without LSU losing and LSU has no real opportunities to go ahead of anyone above them (unless they lose)

Rece Davis was trying his best to deliver the zingers last night. However, without pure chaos, they are right about LSU.

Yep. Its like they took off their politically correct hats for a minute and shot from the hip and trashed us, then realized were still the number 7 team in the country and have one of the strongest resumes in the country.

LSU is the only team in the top 10 with no championship to play for of any kind absent complete chaos. We are an outlier, ranked #7 due to strength of record and strength of schedule. The Vegas line against A&M reflects the unbiased view that LSU is not an elite team overall.

The better move would have been to ignore LSU in the discussion. No way that would have inflamed anyone here.

Didn't score against BAMA, lost to an average UF, and a couple of our close wins are looking worse and worse every week.

You want to be in the discussion for real, you don't let those two things happen, EVER.

No doubt. They spoke a lot of truths for sure. I guess it was the candid delivery that had me scratching my head.
