Someone posted on an old thread about Randy Durbin whose scholarship was revoked from NorthWestern for killing a kid with a bat. Well that kid was my oldest brother Michael Wayne Moore.
Does anyone know where in Louisiana this occurred and what high school he attended or the year he graduated?

If you're talking about where the kid died, wouldn't you know if it was your brother?
Hhughes doesn't aline with Moore. (this is minor)

It happened on Walker South Rd. About 1/2 mile from I-12.
I was a friend of both Randy and Mike and I was there the night it happened.
Randy ended up at Northwestern St. after playing his Senior year at Walker and graduating in 95. Haven't heard from him since.
Why are you asking these questions.

Sounds like he just wants to research his oldest brother and may not know too much about it. That's great someone could provide some info in here.

The reason would be because I was legally adopted at age 5.
There are 4 of us.

We all have different fathers. Michael was raised in Louisiana by family. Jason was raised by his father’s parents. I was adopted by a family in Florida. Corey was adopted by a family in Louisiana.
I am 29 years old and the only girl. There is a very huge gap between all of us. Corey is 20 and Jason is 40.
I can understand all the confusion. I’ve known for years he was killed by a kid who played football and lost his scholarship. I’ve researched for a long time but today that post came up when researching the name of the individual ( Durbin).
The reason I asked “ what” happened and “ “where” would be because if you do the math I would have been about 4 and in foster care.
None of us grew up together. Does that make sense?

Yes, that is the link I was referring too. Just didn’t know if there was anyone who has more information.
I just found an archived newsletter from I’m assuming NW where someone interviewed Coach Sam Goodwin on Durbins potential scholarship or loss of due to the situation .
Whoever wrote the article should have spellchecked lol they misspelled Durbin and Goodwin a thousand times. But I just found that today which answered some questions.

Because he is my oldest brother and I am his little sister Heather. I’m 29 years old and still to this day never got the accurate story. Our brother Jason also had minimal information. I’m sorry but when you’ve spent you’re entire life not knowing what happened to someone you are related to and have pictures with when you were little it’s very upsetting. Especially in the manner that he died.

Yeah, I read it. I answered everyone’s questions too.
I wasn’t even sure if anyone was going to respond or know what I was talking about.
Very upsetting being so young and losing a sibling and being told your whole life he was murdered. I’m a very open minded and smart woman so I can understand self defense and honestly, from what I read and was told Mike shouldn’t haven’t been there to begin with BUT it doesn’t change the fact that my brother was taken away from me. He will never come back and I just want some closure if anyone has more info.
I honestly would like to speak to Randy. I’m a veteran and a have a good head on my shoulders so my intent is not to berate or harass him. I just want a clear story and a why. It just doesn’t sit well with me that he got to play college ball while my brother rotted in the grave. ( not saying he was an angel either). Trust me our biological mother just passed due to overdose and her life story should become a book. She was a real piece of work.
Corey and I both went military and are doing great things. It just breaks my heart I won’t ever get to speak to Michael.

Thank you! I live in Las Vegas. I didn’t even know what this site was but I knew someone might have an answer. Unless I scared them off lol.
I’m looking for Randy himself because I want to say I forgive him. I also just want to know details. The stories over the years were so skewed and I’ve never known the truth. Plus, being adopted social workers didn’t know much about Michael either. It was just all a mess.
Our baby brother who I just revently found is also asking about Michael and it is the worst feeling being 9 years older saying “ I honestly don’t know the full story.”
The whole situation was shitty and I can see where Michael was at fault but he didn’t have to die either. I see both sides but I want the exact truth from the horses mouth.

I knew your brother Mike very well. He was a really good friend of mine and I was there the night of this incident that led to him losing his life. I also grew up around the Durbin family.
I also know Mikes cousins Aaron and Josh Stephens really well.
Mike was a good person who loved animals and playing his guitar. I would love to tell you everything that I know about him. If you want to send me a private message on here then we can exchange contact information.
As far as the Durbins, I haven't heard much of them for many years. Their father was James Durbin and I think the mother's name was Carolyn. There were 3 brothers Robert (deceased), Jimmy and Randy was the youngest.
I know you wish to forgive Randy and a part of me does too but I'm not ready for that so maybe I'll just pray for him instead. I know that Mike would forgive him, but I'm just not ready.
