Clock management; LSU managed the clock perfectly on the last drive. They left no seconds on the clock and played the percentages by playing for a high percentage field goal rather than risk trying to score a td. Yes it was basic clock mgt you would expect from good teams, but in the Miles era clock mgt by LSU was not very good.
Orgeron 2-0 against Malzahn - Malzahn is one of the highest paid coaches in college football. I am no Orgeron fan, but the narrative that he is a Cajun buffoon is losing ground with wins like this. We can’t blame him when we lose and credit coordinators for the wins. Orgeron is building equity with two tough wins against top ten teams. This was his signature win, no doubt.
Tip of the hat to Urban Meyer - Had Meyer handled his qbs like Saban did, letting both believe they might start, Butrow might still be a buckeye. He did the right thing being honest with Burrow. It would have been a travesty to make Burrow play out his college career as a backup. Burrow is a gamer.
Tip of the hat to Ensminger: Steve is doing a great job letting all his talented receivers play meaningful minutes. The three biggest catches in the game were by non starting recievers, Dillon, Sullivan and Anderson. Dillon is a great and underrated athlete. They need to get him in space more. He should get a shot st kickoff and punt returns.
