My cousin was in the GBFTL and he said the roar from the first notes of pregame feels like a gut punch. I've been on the field but that was during the Dark Times (90's)and there is "electricity in the air". Can't imagine what it is like now that we are good.

Man, I really hope we are past the days where we completely dominate a team from start to finish and the score is only like 20-14.

My father went to Ole Miss in the late 60s. He said they would throw bottles and all kinds of crap at Mike... if he ever got out he would have killed half the Ole Miss student section.
Before the game some upper class-men told him and his buddies that no matter the outcome, you trash your rebel flags when the game ends and get the hell out of town. Apparently some state troopers got a hold of some guys north of BR one year.

I've personally witnessed maybe 3 of the loudest Pregames in Death Valley ever:
1. Sept, 1979 - #1 USC. Crazy atmosphere.
2. Nov., 1982 - Florida State. Winner to the Orange Bowl. An LSU student dressed like a Seminole ran around the NW End Zone, the costumed Mike broke his 'spear'- and the student section all collectively jumped into the air. I literally could not hear the first 4 notes it was so deafening.
3. Oct. 2007 - Florida
HM: Sept 2000 Tennessee, Sept 2005 Tennessee,
Nov 2012 Alabama

It was cool to see YouTube sensation, Noel Devine play. Too bad he didn't do much after his college career.

That was a classic. Goes to show you what death valley can really be when we actually put our hearts into it.
Of course, I think we have some spoiled fans and wish we could always be like that. But, after how our team was being run the last few years, it's hard not to blame the fans that would leave early bc they were disgusted. Especially, with all the talent we've had that was being wasted.
And I'm saying that as someone who thinks this tRant hates on Miles too much.
