ESPN and ABC is all Disney baw. They’re gonna send him to the biggest game they have each weekend no matter which channel they broadcast it on

GameDay will probably be there it just seems like it gets Bama more hyped.

Does it seem like that because they’ve had better coaching and a slight edge in talent?

Cuz that’s what it is

the 2 are not mutually exclusive and because they have better coaches and have more talent all the more reason to NOT make it into the "game of the year" and get them more amped up

ETA: I also want this to be 2:30 CBS. much easier to watch games at home that come on at 2:30 I think. there's no tailgating, so I end up sitting on the couch all day anxiously anticipating the game

I saved a personal holiday for this game.

One of the local shows talked to a football staffer that was a GA at Bama a few years ago. The staffer said Saban has someone monitoring all the times anyone from LSU mentions Bama and then puts together a highlight video to show the team before the game to show them how much this game means to LSU. They literally use our obsession to motivate themselves.

shite has to stop.

Yeah it does. There should be a gag order on all coaches and players to not mention Bama or Saban.

Why on earth would CBS give up this game? If anything, its CBS is trying to get it on primetime like they did in 2011.

I don't see how ESPN is even involved here. CBS opted not to use their prime time game on it but they've still got first choice for SEC game of the week at 2:30.

Right.

And the last thing they're doing is relinquishing the rights to ESPN so they can put a competing game on at the same time.

Would be ruh-tarded.

I feel like LSU puts too much pressure on the game waiting two weeks to play then it’s prime time and coach O tightens up.

You people are nuts. If you can get anything even close to the '11 Game of the Century, you take it. The exposure alone would be worth it.

The LSU players get this insurmountable mountain while the bama guys get extra motivation.

I find it difficult to believe that these players are that mentally weak and/or the coaches are unable to get them over that. I bet you that neither JB nor JB does not see it that way. Should not matter when they play or where. Just win baby.

don't get why the opponent makes the primetime game of the week a different story.

If it's a top 5 matchup Gameday is going to be there regardless. Gameday was in Austin and LSU won. I don't understand the difference.

Again you don’t understand the difference between Texas and Alabama?

You seem to think it’s a superstition things it’s not. it’s not the time or GameDay being there that makes us lose, no one is saying that. it’s about putting all this hype and making that one game the defining game every year, it’s been that way for 8 years and it’s overall been a disaster for LSU. It’s will be a big game regardless I’d just rather not add that extra level of magnitude by making it prime time and I like road day games anyway.

When A&M won there it got JFF the Heisman it was at 230

Not in regards to primetime and Gameday.

One of us is reading this wrong because that's exactly what I'm getting from this thread. I'm saying that the magnitude and pressure of the game isn't going to change no matter what time we play the game. The emphasis on the game internally or externally will not change due to the time of the game. Gameday is going to be there no matter what if it's a top 5 matchup like we all expect it to be.

As I've been saying, the hype is going to be there no matter what time we play in a top 5 matchup.

And I bet ESPN will pony up. They would more than make up for whatever they pay.

Would love to know what they paid/gave up the last time they convinced CBS to give them LSU vs Bama.

High probability they'll both be undefeated.

Why do you think that a top 5/3 matchup between undefeated, same conference/division teams being primetime wouldn't be treating it like any other similar matchup?
