Can someone please explain to me how bleeding purple and gold qualifies you to coach at LSU?

Yes, I understand it's a great quality to have and a plus when hiring someone, but what does it have to do with managing a football team or running an offense? I doubt it appears on a resume anywhere.

Yeah, I get that you hate our OC and HC with a combined 69 years of coaching experience but as to your stupid fricking question, tell me who LSU hired where that was their only "qualification"? And tell me who the person who said that coach was hired BECAUSE he bleeds purple and gold.

It's not important at all if a coach bleeds purple and gold. The only thing that matters is the coach being qualified and a professional at his job. Major college football is a business just like any other.

Why do people think O bleeds purple and gold anyway? No one thought this until he campaigned for the HC job.

Bill,

I'm sorry if you didn't pick up on the sarcasm in my question. Let me ask it in a different way.

Can you please provide me Coach O's last head coaching job and explain how that qualifies him to coach LSU?

O doesn’t bleed purple and gold

He wanted to be a HC and were dumb enough to hire him.

Being HC is his dream job. Logo on his polo doesn’t matter.

He was 6-2 at USC as an interim HC. Let me ask you a question. What were the elite accomplishments or the Les Miles at Oklahoma State and Nick Saban at Michigan State that qualified them to coach LSU. Or how about this,....what was Skip Bertman's qualification to take over the LSU baseball program?

Taking a team that had one winning season in I think seven years and after his first season rolling out three winning seasons in a row. Also at the time was the only coach to have beaten Bob Stoops twice.

quote:

Nick Saban at Michigan State that qualified them to coach LSU.

A winning record, a clear vision for success, 9 wins and second place finish in the Big 10 his last season, bolstered with an NFL pedigree and also taking Toledo to a conference championship.

Coaching a high school baseball powerhouse in a talent rich state like Florida, racking off a couple of state titles, three times coach of the year there, associate head coach for college power Miami, CWS Championship during his time with The Canes. Pretty good credintials for a college baseball hire in the 80s.

All of these are a better look than hiring a guy with an abysmal losing record in his only gig as a full time head coach, I don’t care what his record was as an interim. That’s like saying the crazy uncle you get to babysit the kids for the weekend and let’s them eat pizza and play video games all night is qualified to have full time custody just because the kids like him and he didn’t burn the house down.

Of course you don't it doesn't fit your narrative.....like pointing out that Saban had a "winning record". Orgeron will have a "winning record" come next October. Bottom line is Saban finished 5th or worse in 4 of his 5 seasons as HC of a P-5 Program. What is Saban's "NFL pedigree"? Orgeron has coached under some great college and NFL coaches.

I am tired of all the bitching....but I will say that he seems to be afraid to bring in someone from outside of his circle which is a terrible thing for a manager to do. However, I am at peace:
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.........
