Only 2 starters played and our best backup was out. Calm Down.

Another common sense post one of only about 4 here today. Some here think your starters go down and all you have to do is put the next guy in and we are just as good. Guess had Burrow went down in 2019 all we had to do was put Brennan in and we would have still went 15-0.

Lastly I do believe O ran much more because he needed to get these backups game experience. McNeese keyed on this and partly the reason our running game didn't look that good.

I’m scared to see how bad this line is next season.

I would agree that many folks are overlooking the fact that we had 3 starters out.

That being said.. do I think we would have gone 15-0 in 2019 with Brennan? Probably not. Do I think Brennan would have looked like a stud against McNeese (in the 2019 offense)? Absolutely.

It’s an FCS team. The next guy might not be just as good as the starter but he should be good enough to comfortably win his matchups.

We ran the ball 36 times and passed 37 times. When you account for sacks, it’s actually 33 rush / 40 pass. You’re telling me that our running game looked bad because we were only passing the ball ~65% of the time, and this allowed McNeese to focus on the running game?

Come on man. Again, this is an FCS school. The OL did not play well.

. It was mcneese state. West Florida’s offense performed a lot better vs the cowboy defense then LSU. Lsu should be able to handle mcneese regardless of starter or backup. It was concerning

I think the OL will get better as the year progresses,

That just means the results will be the same, because the opponents also get better as the year progresses.

I dont even want to imagine what the OLine will look like, if they dont improve, as the year progresses

You think maybe because that game went down to the wire, while we blew them out and were putting in backups by the 3rd Quarter?
Maybe?

Typical idiotic rant post.

so that makes it okay the offense was atrocious against a terrible defense on third down and struggled to run the ball all night. This was from the beginning of the game when it was close onward. You can continue to pump sunshine all you want but that was a bad offensive performance for the second week in a row. But your also the guy saying it was “cool” that O threatened a booster for saying he should win more games. Talk about idiotic. Look at yourself little man

I didn't say that. You made a stupid comparison, which I was pointing out.

I agree, on one play McNeese had six definitely blitzing and although the o-line missed an assignment and a defender came free and got the sack, Johnson should have read this and been ready to hit his hot route where the blitz came from and could have possibly avoided a sack.

Supposedly 3 seasons ago it was impressed upon Ed that we needed to get better on the OL.

Orgeron Post-Game Bama 2018

I would point out that largely the same OL in '19 was part of CFB's most prolific offense. I think it's reasonable to think they all improved some. And even though they won the OL award, I didn't think they were that special. There were no 1st rd picks.

But what was happening behind the OL stressed the heck out of the defenses. And the OL was the beneficiaries.

Seems like we're almost back to the Les era where if all 5 OL can know and simultaneously execute their blocks that the D knows is coming, then a play can be successful. That's rarely the case and shouldn't be attempted unless if you have an OL full of Trai Turner's.

Now, our OL isn't that talented and our scheme helps them none.

Line looked better with turner at center.

Maybe it was because mcneese was gassed but is Shanahan the best option there? Holes were opening up inside..

Our center is a 6th year player from Harvard. How in the world is our staff so overly incompetent that we have not even recruited an average center in the last 3 years?

Man i like the energy Nuss brings, his mobility is off the charts and to be honest i dont think he threw one ball that shouldnt have been caught.
