We are making some improvements, but it's painful to see Bama at the top of recruiting classes year after year...In the title game every other year.

I do not know how they do it but now it seems kids just want to inherit the tradition of yesteryear.

Tired of their insiders always ahead of our insiders, when these top players are in our backyards

how in the heck does this keep happening?

Oh well..

we can always try to do what Clemson did...and just flat out make their big uglies tired...

A great offense can hide some of our problems on DL

BAMA IS ON A HISTORIC RUN.

I’m not sure what is so hard to comprehend about why we keep losing top targets to them.

QB is where we have come up short the last 10 years. The last 3 years we’ve added OL as a reason too. It’s still all about the QB play though

There are other DL besides Sopsher and we didn’t land enough good ones.

LSU is not Bama. People have to start realizing this. No one is Bama. Clemson is the closest thing to Bama and they aren’t Bama. Bama has won 5 Championships in 10 years. This may come off as an excuse but that is the ultimate trump card in recruiting. I agree we should strive to do what Bama is doing but it’s just not realistic. In the 150 years of football they are on the best run in history when it should be the hardest time to do it.

Why play the season then? Just hand them the trophy if it's a waste of time.

So why did we fire a coach that beat Bama and hire a coach that knows he cant beat Bama.

It's not about losing top targets to them. LSU has been dropping the ball on top targets to other schools as well. Missing on in state and out of state top targets of NEED.

CEO just completely whiffed on DL targets and that was a major need for this class.

The over all class is great, should end up around 5/6 but that's bc being weighted heavy on skill positions.

.

Someone should've told Dabo that before Clemson curb-stomped 'em.

And they've lost every single year during that supposed historic run, including being depantsed by Clemson last month. Get the hog out of your gullet. We just can't beat them because we don't have sophisticated offensive coaches.

Clemson recruit Ol and DL just as well as Bama. That’s how they compete.

Miles was not fired for not beating Bama. Miles was fired for losing to other schools and then refusing to upgrade the offense even after promising to do so to keep his job after 2015 season.

Just because a kid lives in a particular state doesn't mean he is a diehard fan of the big state school. For as long as there have been sports teams, there have been non-resident fans of the perennial winners. There are countless Yankee fans who have never lived, or even been to New York. There are people in Florida who LOVE the LA Lakers. Kids in Minnesota who dream of one day playing for Duke.

Once you accept that fact, you can then understand "how this keeps happening?"

Right now, and for the last 10 years, Alabama has been at the top of college football and personifying the sentiment that the rich get richer. Kids want to be a part of a winner. Always have. Always will. And right now they are winners. Go take a drive through North Baton Rouge, or Livingston Parish, or many other parts of the state. You'll see Alabama gear where 10 years ago you would have never seen it. That's because at that time everyone was a Florida St., or Michigan, or USC, "fan".

Changing the perception requires changing the results on the field. If LSU wants to beat Bama on signing day they have to start beating them on the field first. Easier said than done, but that's reality when you go head to head every season.

Really pissed me off that Bama got Ish. We always get the short end of the stick. Dennis aka Meatball needs to be demoted. No hard feelings but without a couple 5 star Dt/DEs you can’t compete with Clemson, Bama, Ohio State. Etc. and he hasn’t shown the ability to go out and snag them

Clemson has had 1 nfl draft pick on the oline since 2014. Their scheme allows less talented olinemen to have success against nfl dlinemen at bama.

So explain how 2017 and 2018 were different.

Losses to bama
Losses to multiple inferior teams
A crap offense

Their DL is insane though

And their LT is. 5 star that’s been their starter for 5 years.

Their scheme is better too though.
