I haven't seen nor heard of it that broad use of authority given to Roger Goodwll. Here is some reading for you and your friends that seem to support what that dummy tweeted. Doesn't sound like he is or would even do anything BUT support the people who make up the product on the field.

In a statement Saturday morning, Goodell said the NFL is at its best "when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture."

"Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities," Goodell said, in part, referencing Trump.

Goodell is a world class hypocrite. Of course he won't speak out against the protest. Does he want to be called a racist? The majority of his employees are minorities. It would be a horrible strategic move to take action against them.

I'd rather the NFL stop playing the anthem and pretend to be patriotic. Or, play it before the players come out.

You sound guilty. If the shoe doesn't fit, then don't wear it. If you don't feel like you belong in the group I was speaking about, then why are you so butthurt?

Not butthurt. Your statement "people like you" was directed at me and I was letting you know that you don't know me and to assume that because I disagree with you means I must be one the oppressive people on the other side is wrong. It is the reason their message isn't coming across. Just because people disagree with you doesn't mean their wrong or evil. I'm in favor of peaceful protest. I am more in favor of showing respect to the country that allows us to do so.

It's that simple. You have the information you asked for, but refuse to listen or hear it. You just don't want to hear the message or messages because it's coming from people you might not like and/or it's not done in an approved, suppressed way.

I don't dislike anyone that knelt today. The truth is I don't have feelings one way or another for them. They don't affect my daily life and aren't that important to me. I'm not saying this to be a dick, it just is what it is. I don't expect that they care what I think or do either.

Based on your response it looks like you agree that the people taking part in the kneeling today don't fully understand the origin of this specific protest. The kneeling today was for whatever reason (racially or politically-motivated) each person decided before they actually knelt down. In my opinion they aren't doing themselves any favors by haphazardly choosing a different reason for the protest if they want to get a clear message across to the other side.

he shares the same rights as those who felt the need to kneel in protest, without fear of public outcry

There is no such right. In fact it's hypocritical to say that they have a right to protest against America, but we don't have the right to protest against them.

I won't watch the NFL on TV any more. Frick them. That's MY right.

I don't have a problem with the message I just don't like the messengers!

On a serious note the narrative is CRAP! So these people have an issue with cops who abuse or kill suspects but know one gives a F@#% that thousands of people get killed each year by many of those that the cops are harassing! Problem isn't the cops and it isn't racism. If they want to protest something protest the break down of the traditional American family. Bring that model back and most of the other problems will go away! Oh and if you want to point a finger at a white man, Lyndon Johnson is your guy!
