I use profanity a little bit during the games. We all do that, we are not perfect little angels. I do not curse for every other word, I'm not that bad. And if anybody complains to me, I'll tell them to mind their own damn business.

amen. i know how to mind my manners well enough for the crowd i'm in. the last thing i need is preachy old people lecturing me about letting "kick their arse" slip out.

I've been a season ticket holder for 35+ years. There used to be an occasional drunk using prafane language but it has gotten totally out of hand. It has now become the norm rather than the exception. Why do so many people think they have the right to yell obscenities all game long?

Times have changed. Get the frick over it.

This is a total straw man argument. I didn't say I was saintly, without fault or looking down on anyone that's your assumption and a pretty poor one considering (thank the Lord)....that we have never met. I believe that in a public setting (Tiger Stadium in particular) with women and children around, people should display some sensitivity and discretion and refrain from using certain language

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow! Please stop assuming that all women need protection from vulgar language. Maybe your wife’s frailty requires your protection, but I sure do not.

Now on to my own generalization. I have sat in several different sections of Tiger Stadium in the last few years. In most of them, I have never heard cursing. In some, I heard it all the time, and in others, I only heard it after a bad play or call. You can apply that statement to every sports venue in the world.

Dear Barbster,
Are you really this stupid? Dear Barbster,

I was in Sec. 239 for the Tenn. game. Was pretty quiet the whole game...but then I yelled Dooley you're a pussy close to the end of the game and the game marshal put me in time out under the portal for ten minutes. I really didn't know what to think about that. No small children around that I could tell. But plenty of slutty women.

"Tiger Stadium, a utopia of family fun and respect". Please, these bubble boys that are so destroyed by a coupling of letters need to spend more time instilling a strong sense of self in their kids so that certain words (not directed at them) don't scar them for life. Where is the sign that says Welcome to Death Valley, enjoy our family friendly environment. I have children, I don't curse around them but I'm not naive enough to think they are not going to hear it. My 12 year old is way more well adjusted than some of these hand ringers, he realizes these are just words and because some adults use them, it does not make it ok for him to. It's called parenting some of you guys might want to try it.

A family-fun environment doesn't mean you can't be on your feet, cheering for the team with all your heart. That's perfectly fine, the OP is just asking for clean language, and that's perfectly reasonable. And no, I'm not a baby boomer. I just think we should respect the wishes of others.

Great, more delightful lessons from the fricking baby boomer generation. This may not apply to those on this board, but your generation was the one that acted like complete fools and then grew up to stop your kids from making the same choices. Then you bring God into it.

ETA: when I sit in the upper decks, I don't swear at all. Just stop telling others what to do.

1. I sit in the greek section, get wasted, and do curse every once in a while.
2. I don't tell other adults how to behave unless they are harming someone.
3. God doesn't give a frick about the English language.
4. I don't have kids and don't want them. The way I see it, your kids infringe on my experience, not the other way around. I have no desire for TS to be a "family friendly atmosphere." I want other teams to show up and be terrified to play here.

Man, are you really this stupid or did you write this post for effect?

First from your first paragraph: (if you can call it a paragraph)

quote:

your generation was the one that acted like complete fools and then grew up to stop your kids from making the same choices.

I 'm curious......how do you know that I acted like a fool when I was your age and how do you know how I interacted with my kids? This is called a generalization and any high school freshman would know that it's a stupid mistake that is totally inappropriate in a debate.
Secondly,
quote:

Then you bring God into it.
Again, you have to be kidding, right? I mean you are trying to be funny aren 't you?
Thirdly,
quote:

ETA: when I sit in the upper decks, I don't swear at all. Just stop telling others what to do.

This is truly priceless as you take offense at being told what to do as you tell others what to do. You are an idiot.

Finally these points of yours are priceless.

quote:

1. I sit in the greek section, get wasted, and do curse every once in a while
. .......And I'm supposed to take advise from an someone like this????

quote:

2. I don't tell other adults how to behave unless they are harming someone.

And you are the final arbiter of what "harming" means........... This will allow me to sleep better tonight!

quote:

3. God doesn't give a frick about the English language.

You're drunk right now aren't you as no sober human being can be this stupid. Are you really so presumptuous that you honestly think you know anything about God.......and are you really so arrogant that you think anyone on this board would take seriously the idea that you have any concept of what God cares about. I bet you don't have any idea of the name of the first chapter of the Bible.

quote:

4. I don't have kids and don't want them.

Buddy, this only proves that there is a God. Fortunately for the rest of the world we won't have to worry about the kind of fools you might bring into the world!!!!!!!!

Finally your last quote:
quote:

The way I see it, your kids infringe on my experience, not the other way around. I have no desire for TS to be a "family friendly atmosphere." I want other teams to show up and be terrified to play here.

.........and some drunk dropping the "F" bomb in the upperdeck is going to intimidate the Crimson Tide?????

God help us!

What % of TS is offended by cursing? If it's less than 50% then the minority should suck it up. Minority rule does not compute. I could care less about cursing( I think I said shite 4 or 5 times Saturday). It just doesn't have the profound soul scarring affect on me it has on others.

They are just words...don't get upset because someone uses "bad" words. Besides times have changed and language has adapted. No one says "thou" now..and I don't see people complaining about that.

I can understand the occasional profanity during a competitive game. However, we happened to be tailgating after the game and were "treated" to an expletive filled evening from a tailgater with a PA system near where we were parked. This was uncalled for, IMHO.

If cursing doesn't offend you, let me offer the following observation...........YOU'RE A shite HEAD!

Gee, I offended you. Now you have some concept of how I feel when I am sitting in Tiger Stadium with my family and some drunk sitting around me uses offensive language. You just proved my point.

By the way, how does one have sex with themselves. I've never done that before, but I'll bet you have.
