What's going on with this? Is there an ESPN AM station or some sort of complaint we can start to fix this. It's barely listenable. Static constantly.

been that way since the beginning

Please complain to them. Everyone loves receiving complaints about something they have no control over.

it's poor in Prairieville which is pretty ridiculous. I get 870 better than 104.5/9 there.

I find it hilarious that the closer you get to their station on government street the worse the signal gets.

Half the time it's virtually unlistenable in my car. My GFs car seems to have no problem with either of them and her's is 6 years older than mine.

You can switch to the 98.1(2)HD channel for a clear signal.

You do realize their signal does not come from their office/studio right?

The station has zero to do with how the signal works so no need to complain to them. Every spring something to do with how the sun is aligned messes up the signal really bad for about a week. Someone a lot smarter than me could explain why but this is what was explained to me once.

If you have HD radio this works great. Strong signal.
You can also just use the 104.5 app or use tune in and use bluetooth to connect and stream to your car.

I'm not sure what exactly the problem is, but I blame Ponamsky because it just feels right.

Frequency 104.9 /Donaldsville transmitter is close to around 3000 Watts.

Signal reception has nothing to do with the location of the studio. The two transmitters are out of town. 104.5 is in Jackson, LA with a power of 3kw and antenna height 477 feet.
104.9 in Donaldsonville has 3.8kw and antenna height 400 feet. For comparison, their other two full power FMs (98.1 and 100.7) each have nearly 100 kw and antenna height at 1500 feet (co-located on the same antenna).
Range of signal on FM is strictly line of sight, so the higher the antenna, the further the range, which is even more important than power output.

Wish they could trade-in their two wavelengths for one bigger one. I'm constantly flipping back and forth to see which has the better signal at that moment.

Don't know what's up with this poor signal
You'd think ESPN would demand a station with a stronger signal...........however this works!!

No, I'm pretty dumb though. Where does it come from? I see a huge arse antenna on their building.
