Primetime Broadcast: no ABC...?

Why would Disney/ABC/ESPN not move the now big time Top 10 match-up from ESPN to ABC this Saturday?
What game could they possibly be gearing up for that would compete in the ratings?
USC/Notre Dame is on NBC in Primetime. So, if you have you #1 crew + Gameday on the LSU game, why not put it on ABC & crush the ratings? They're leaving money on the table with the game on ESPN.
ETA: this is not a question of who is calling the game nor is it about any perceived slight against LSU. this is purely a curiosity of network broadcasting of college football in primetime.

(10)Penn State vs (17) Iowa is the ABC night game.
I was hoping for Herbs & Fowler mostly because they dont do many LSU home games, plus I like the 2 of them together.

SEC vs SEC is never on ABC.

What’s the last sec home game they put on ABC? I’m having trouble remembering one.

I thought it was part of the CBS deal that ABC cannot show an SEC-SEC matchup. Has to be on ESPN or SEC network.

CBS gets first pick...tamu,bama. Espn gets second pick. LSU uf.

Disney is not allowed to have games at SEC stadiums broadcast on ABC.
The same thing happened a few years ago when gameday came for Ole Miss.

Terrible negotiation by Disney then. Because their ratings would SKYROCKET for games like this.

It's really not a big deal, it's been more than a decade since people really worried about something being on network instead of cable.

Kirk and Fowler are calling the game.

The contract is old and was negotiated years ago. CBS has had first rights of SEC games since 1996. EPSN gets second pick. ABC gets most of the other conferences. There's plenty of scratch to go around for the networks, don't worry.

It doesn't really make a shite to me what channel the game is on. All I know is I'm fricking pumped and ready for it be Saturday. The games have been kind of meh since Texas and I'm ready to see Tiger Stadium lit.

Fowler is extremely underrated imo. Disappointed he didn’t call the Texas game.

The following is the detailed SEC TV situation:
CBS gets first pick every week for their 3:30/2:30c time slot. No other network may broadcast a game where an SEC team is the home team during this time slot.
CBS gets 2 doubleheaders per year. One at 3:30/8:00pm (2:30/7:00pm central) and one at Noon/3:30. No network may broadcast a game where an SEC team is the home team while CBS uses it's 8pm game. However, the Noon time slot is not exclusive to CBS during that doubleheader.
ESPN gets to pick the next 2 games. They may choose to start these games either before 1:30/12:30c or after 7/6c as to not conflict with the CBS broadcast.
SEC Network gets next pick for their for their 12/11c game.
ESPNU gets to pick the next game. They may choose to start the games either before 1:30/12:30c or after 7/6c as to not conflict with the CBS broadcast.
Regional networks get the remaining games. They may choose to start the games either before 1:30/12:30c or after 7/6c as to not conflict with the CBS broadcast.
Each team may elect to show 1 out of conference game per year on Pay-Per-View.
If an SEC team plays against an out of conference opponent, the home team's TV contract prevails.
Neutral site SEC games (such as Georgia-Florida in Jacksonville) are subject to the SEC TV rules.
Neutral site non-SEC games games (such as the Cowboy Classic or the Chick-fil-a kickoff game) have their own TV contracts and are not subject to these rules.
So, simplified, tv draft is usually(all central time):
1)CBS 230
2)ESPN 6pm
3)ESPN 11am
4)SECN 11am
5)ESPNU 6pm or early
6)who cares

I can take or leave Fowler. I think his play by play is pretty mediocre.

This is a little outdated. (Actually, I’m pretty sure you copied and pasted it from one of my old posts when the SEC network first started).
The CBS 2:30 slot is no longer exclusive. There can be a game on SEC network.
Also, pay-per-view isn’t allowed anymore.
