Preview of WBB vs A&M, year 10 for NF

Disclaimer- if you hate WBB, fine go away. Title IX means we MUST have a team and if you’re a Tiger fan you should hope we are at least good and building to get back to a program like the five straight Final Four’s under 4 different coaches before NF’s 10 years. Our players, fans and LSU deserve much better, and have for years. Well, at least we paid for two trips to Vegas THIS YEAR and went 1-3. We had decent luck vs. Aggies in recent years, however…
A preview for tonight’s game versus Texas A&M, and remember she is a great x’s and o’s coach!
· We lose. We are 4-6, double digit losses BYU, WVU and UCF and a 9 point loss to Pacific. We beat SEC bottom dwellers Ole Miss and Auburn and got beat by a very subpar TN team and Alabama, who has not had a winning record in the SEC since 1998. NF will end this year with a losing record in the SEC after 10 years.
· We draw up a play during a timeout, 2 point game, 15 seconds to go, but do it from the wrong place, leaving our best player unsure how to bring the ball up the court as happened in the last game vs TN. “I’m a little upset about the last play,” said Pointer, “We didn’t know we hadn’t advanced the ball, so in the timeout we set up a play for half court. “(BTW LSU had another timeout they, maybe should have taken that one NF?)
· We receive a technical foul for not turning our lineup card in on time. Yes this happened last year. Nice way to start game, the other team gets two free throw before opening tip. Guess we need to recruit better to fix this issue.
· One of our players gets an on court technical foul. This has happened 3 times this year from two different starting players. NF has zero. No other SEC team has more than 1 player TF this year. So we are leading in the category, which is nice.
· We fall towards the bottom of the SEC. We are currently 8th, but hey in 10 years NF has never finished above 4th so 8th is about on par. And our overall win % is 14th, dead last.
· NF will earn $32,000 for this game. That’s right the $700K she has made for the last 5 years still in place.

Fargus harped on how good we were supposed to be this year. She stressed about all the shooters and scorers she had amassed. She was about as correct as O was in touting his defense before the season with Pelini.
Hope this is her last year. She has had ample time to show us what she can do. Her teams are mediocre at best and poor at other times.
We need to start over from scratch, IMO.

Nikki seems to have A&Ms number so this is likely a tight game.
LSU up 17-12 after one
It seems mental for A&M against LSU in all sports with some of these performances
Up 8 at half. Will be tough to hold on but kids playing hard

As disappointing as Nikki has been, she really has had been able to beat much better A&M teams.

I've known Gary Blair for 25+ years and I'm surprised at how much trouble his teams have in Baton Rouge. Nikki has found a way to beat them so many times.

I think their style of play really struggles with our matchup zone D.
A&M hasn't won in BR since 2016. LSU beat A&M twice last year even when they had a superior team.

This would be a big and much needed win. Every year though, the defense normally comes alive and pulls off a few upsets along the way.

The Tennessee and Georgia game earlier was worse. Tennessee choked a 15 point halftime lead. Harper almost attacked ref, literally. Georgia tried giving Tennessee the game throwing the inbounds pass out of bounds with 3 seconds left, giving Tennessee a chance to win.
