TAMU- win
Arky- win
MSU- loss, their length and playing in stark Vegas hurt us
Auburn- win
KY- loss, but if we win, mannnn what a season this could be
UGA- win
UF- win
Tenn- I’m actually calling a win here, idk why. I think they are overachieving right now and we match up well
TAMU- Win
Bama- win
UF- grind catches us and we drop one on the road
Vandy- win

So I have us closing out at 9-3. Sunshine pumping or not, I think it’s realistic.

IF they beat A&M on Wednesday, then I think 13-5 reasonable. If not, 12-6

I think 7-5 or 6-6 is reasonable. This is why it was so important to start well with our schedule layout.
The hope is we would improve/gel while winning, and we accomplished this. That said, we may not have improved enough quite yet to roll through with only 4 losses.
I think we still have a few lessons to learn the hard way, and a few teams that will be favored against us.

If being conservative (realistic) I think OP is about right on 7-5 finish. 8-4 is best case scenario to me.

Team has been fortunate during first 1/3 of league play.

Some chinks are starting to show and breaks have a way of evening out.

Competition is about to get stiffer too.

I would be happy with 7-5. For this young team, 23-8 would be a very good year. Of course there will be some that will
say "we beat Duke if we hit our threes" that will be unhappy unless we don't win out...

I’ve got 8-4 as well. I think they go 3-1 over the next 4

To me this team has all the tools, but I would like to see more flow in the offense and the defense cannot leave people unguarded at the 3 pt line. Waters needs to do even more dribble penetration and dump it off for easy layups or dunks from the bigs

I got 6 wins (A&M-2, Arky @ home, @georgia, Fla @home, vandy @ home)
I got 2 losses (@ Ky, Tenn @ home)
I got 4 toss ups ( @ state, Auburn@ home, @ Bama, @ Fla)
So anywhere between 12-6 and 14-4 seeems reasonable.
I think 13-5 is the number though going 1-3 on the toss ups

Winning on the road in conference play is hard to do. I’d be happy if we went 3-2 on the road, with 5-2 at home being the target given Kentucky/Tenn games.

7-5 or 6-6 down the stretch wouldn’t be that surprising, or even that much of a disaster- we’d still have a strong conference record, and I doubt our metrics would drop all that much due to the strong schedule we’re about to play.

3-1, 2-2, 3-1.

Plus I think this team will get to at least the conference semis.

I agree. The Auburn game concerns me some because of how they play. UK is an EXCELLENT defensive team and are a match-up issue. UT guard play will be the difference. As good as Waters and Mays have been, Bone and Turner are just at a different level. Maybe it’s the offense - IDK.
I don’t like the MSU match-Up on the road because of their length. If the Tigers pull this one out, I say they lose Maybe 3 games because of what it will do for their confidence.

Nevertheless, losing only 3-5 games is a great season.

Think we dodged the inevitable stumble against a bad/mediocre team on the road against Missouri, and we beat AM and Arkansas to get to 8-0.

The second half (technically more than half) of our conference schedule will be about as tough a schedule as anyone will play in the country, with @Florida, @Bama, @Kentucky, @MSU, home for Auburn and Tennessee likely all being Quadrant 1 games.

I honestly have no idea how we’ll do. My gut says about 3-3. But I hope people on here don’t go ballistic if we stumble a bit, and realize that even if we go 2-4 in that stretch our metrics will barely take a hit bc of the quality of competition.

Man if we could finish at 13-5.... your looking at a really good seed. 23-8 plus what we do in the sec tourney. You go 2-1 there and that’s 25-9

Even though we pulled out the win yesterday it was still somewhat of a wake up call. I think it really helps us for the trip to ATM and we’ll likely beat Arkansas at home giving us an 8-0 start. Week after next will be a huge test and the guys will no doubt bring a lot of intensity to State and then home vs Auburn. Let’s call that week a split just to avoid homer projections. That leaves us at 9-1 through the first 10 games of SEC play. The final 8 is tougher to predict because there’s no way of knowing who will be injured throughout the league or how teams will grow and change. I’ll just guess we finish either 5-3 or 6-2. The schedule gets a little tougher with road games at Rupp, Florida and Bama, the 3 most unfair venues in the SEC where you have to not only beat the opposing team but the refs as well. I believe we can steal 1 of the three and maybe 2 leaving the big matchup at home vs Tennessee as the swing game in my opinion. At that point the PMAC should finally be awake giving us a great chance. So my guess is 14-4 in the SEC 24-7 overall for the regular season with a second place finish in league play. Hopefully our boys exceed this mark, they definitely have the talent to do it and have exceeded expectations so far.

[quote]The Tigers are 1/4 of the way through with the SEC.

six games
six games
six games
= 18 games

Looks like I divided 18 games by three sets of six. I think we must be 1/3 of the way through the SEC schedule.
