I keep seeing people calling for Bo's head. It is virtually impossible to put a solid defense together with the amount of experienced depth we lost coupled with trying to install an entirely new scheme and a lack of spring/hands on summer reps. Not to mention what seems to be a real lack of interest by the players overall.

However, I'm not opposed to the idea of canning him if he cannot show improvements.

Who do we go after if we cut him loose?

It’s ok to not expect best in the country but historically bad is ridiculous. Missouri and State are dogshit and set records on us

I expected a drop-off but I didn't expect us to be non competitive and put out the historically worst defense LSU has ever put on the field

Every game looks the same on defense. There have been little to no adjustments on defense. And I hate that because if anything from LSU that could be depended on was usually the defense.

That's on Pelini. If he could show any improvements to his defense, I would be fine. He hasn't done that.

Million dollar question.

Who cares? They won’t fire Pelini. If I had to choose however I would go with Marcus Freeman from Cincinnati or David Reeves from UAB.

LSU cannot afford to fire Bo. If he is fired in January, they would owe him $4.3 million. And LSU athletics is running so far in the red they cannot afford to pay anyone that much money to not coach.

There is no historical precedence set for a season like this...I get it we suck. But trying to use past defenses as a measuring stick, when we've never seen circumstances even close to this, is not a framework any logical person would operate in.

you sir, are an idiot.

I don't think you're understanding what he's saying.

Everyone expected a drop-off from last season, I think we can agree there. With that being said, we have guys from last season that are still on the team, on defense, who don't look like they did last season.

There is no competitiveness, no fire. Guys are out of position, poor tackling, etc. Guys who have been there and now have a championship ring to show for it.

They've regressed. That's on the teacher, the coach. Every game on defense looks the same. We could at least be competitive.

That's too much to ask?

South carolina fired muschamp. Doesnt matter how the ad is doing, if the boosters come up with the money, it will happen. Everybody keeps saying covid got coaches a free pass. I think the opposite. When the restrictions are lifted, the ads need people to pack the stadium to try to make up the revenue, so they need the best product on the field.

You do know that you negotiate the settlement. You don’t cut him a check $4mill and send him on his way. They can pay him out over several years and with conditions that his next job offsets what we owe him. This is the worst defense in the history of the program. And you’ve yet to play the best offenses.

The Pelini contract was idiotic.

It's one thing to pay a currently elite successful coach that kind of money, but not a guy you had to negotiate away from Youngstown St.. who wasn't exactly tearing it up.

I couldn't believe the amount it took to get him. He was perfectly content at Youngstown St.

Maybe Pelini turns it around, but hard to see it ATM.

Taf picks up that bill, I know a few of larger contributors who have the Suits in TS that are extremely pissed...

Trust me, if some donors found out that were holding on to a DC because of 3 million dollars, some of them would put that money up themselves
