#LSU Paul Mainieri tells Skip Bertman and Dan Canevari @1045espn it’s not official, but SEC is strongly leaning towards a 4-game SEC weekend, with no midweek games once conference play begins.

So midweek games really don’t matter.

4-game SEC weekend
Would be some slugfests on Saturday and Sunday, but this sounds pretty awesome to me.

Talked about 2 7-inning games on Saturday.

frick 7 inning baseball games. What a disgrace this season would be if they had them every weekend

Meh. I don’t hate it. I don’t love it either. It’s just, meh.
But if they do that, wouldn’t it make sense to make all the weekend games 7 innings?

Other conferences are going no midweek once conference games start. They don’t want some scrub team like ULL that doesn’t use the same testing requirements to screw up the conference season for a real team.

So now I can’t melt down about losing mid week games to Nicholls and McNeese?
Thanks a lot COVID

As long as we play them before conference games start feel free to melt like a nice slice of Kraft singles.

Damn how are we supposed to fire Mainieri then if he isn’t losing any midweek games

Oh man...I really enjoyed watching us trot out a new pitcher ever half inning while UNO beat us by 5

They haven’t said anything but I would assume it would operate under the same percentage capacity that football and basketball have been, at least for the start of the season.

Now they're saying that the 7 inning double header would be on Sunday.

With travel requirements are they starting these games at like 10 AM or something? That seems like a really bad plan. If anything it should be DH on Saturday, and push to Sunday if you have to due to rain or something.

I agree that the Sunday double header is the absolute worst of the ideas. I'm fine with the 4 game series, but I'd rather it be Thu-Sun, even if you make the Sunday game just 7 innings. If they insist on a double header, make it Saturday.

Will baseball or football want to go back to OOC schedules after this is all over?

Covid isn't the problem. It's the people In charge of making decisions who are still treating this thing as if 99.5% of people who contract it don't fully recover. They have scared the crap out of everyone by cooking the books on the death statistics. Meanwhile, a very small percentage of people who get the virus actually die from it alone. Stop scaring the shite out of everybody with fake stats and let's get back to life. If people want to stay in their house or in the basement, fine. But I'm tired of being told what to do over something that's barely more lethal than the common flu.

frick that. LSU has a history of late inning comebacks especially at the Box. Starting pitchers may handle up to six innings however their late inning pitchers are usually suspect. LSU has a penchant for attacking the late inning pitchers.
