This is the wrong way to look at it. Teams don’t get rewarded or penalized for losing or winning. They get ranked. You make a new list every week with new data. Sometimes teams get ranked higher certain weeks because more teams that were ahead of them lost. Sometimes not.

Florida was also ranked #22 at the time. Loss to #22 = drop 8 spots. Loss to #13 = drop 4 spots. Seems pretty fair to me

True but the whole Good vs. Bad loss argument was also one of the big criticisms about the BCS system. Its impossible to come up with a perfect system
