Solid point. I hadn’t even thought about returning to the original source.

There was no reason to interrupt his at bat to give him take sign.

If he was giving him the take sign he would have given it from the dugout where he always calls signals from.

That’s over-coaching.

I think it had zero negative impact. But I don’t understand breaking his concentration.

I'm not sure how anyone is defending this? Struggling to remember the last time I saw an AB interrupted by a coach running out of the dugout for a quick mid at bat discussion.

Why the secrecy? Put what you said out there for all to see.

Why wouldn’t Marceaux tell what PM said to him during a mound visit when he was asked? It’s between them if they want it to be.

Who has actually defended it?

PM has an ego. He wants to feed that ego by making “gut” changes and interrupting ABs. So that when good things happen, he can take all credit. Yet when bad things happen, it’s the players fault.

I have watched almost every post game and midweek interview this year. He is more inclined to blame himself than the players. He’s consistently praised them all year for how hard they’ve worked and talked about how bad he’s felt for them that the game results haven’t shown that. He didn’t blame Crews for anything and he obviously didn’t tell him to strike out looking, which you can’t do in that situation. The whole throwing kids under the bus narrative is way overblown.

What momentum? Tf are you talking about? In the at bat momentum? Did he interrupt the not swinging at the last 4 pitches momentum?

You can’t reason with these idiots. They smell blood, and they are simple brutes.

I’ll bet if he had scorched one CPM would be bragging about what he told him.

Like he’s done so many times in the past? I can’t EVER remember that gracious man behaving as you would do if you had the ability to be in that position.

Don’t get why y’all are blaming CPM

He told him to take, and the next two pitches were balls which means he earned the walk +1

You sir are 100% correct, and anyone who has ever played the sport or coached at a high level knows this. Those who think differently, doesn’t have any clue what they are talking about!
