Watching game last night camera caught PM about 3 times looking despondent. My thoughts...
1) Underlying everything, he may be dealing with some depression over his Das’s death. I was depressed when mine did. Maybe his Dad was who talked “ball” with?
2) Team is dealing with lots of injuries. After Hilliard’s bad 2nd inning I think he decided to hold most pitchers till tonight & Sat.
Depression makes everything worse.

What should he have looked like while getting shutout?

Didn’t say he was wrong to look down. Just commenting on the fact he looked down.

I see a face of frustration and nothing he is trying is working. In previous seasons he would play hunches and try different guys and someone would step up. It's not happening this year.

Wish I could be depressed with that salary and that job title.

I'm very critical of him but do have a soft spot regarding his father. He should take that hurt though and turn it into passion and fight to comeback and prove doubters wrong.

This is pretty spot on. It’s just one of those years where nothing he try’s is working

Our three starting pitchers, Hess, Marceaux, and Hill are all injured to some degree. How many SEC teams could have that happen and still be in the SEC race?
