Please stop insulting the 2008 defense by comparing them to this one

If we had half of the 2008 defense, we would be undefeated. No LSU team has ever scored 40 points in four quarters and lost a damned game. There has never been a defense this bad.

The D better step up. We actually have people on this board posting threads about winning out the rest of the season. These plugs are on drugs. This D needs to improve by light years, or, LSU will lose at least 2 or 3 more games.

And 2011 defense would have won the NC with half of this year's offense.

And why's that? So we lose to one of the best teams in the country in the final minute away. And now there is no way we can win out the rest of the season?
If we had scored on that final drive, and won the game, would you still be thinking like this? I know you will say yes, but I think the answer is no.

We are good enough to win the rest of our games.... Will we? I'm not sure about that, our offense can score points, and if our defense can fix a few things we are right there. But hell, even without fixing a few things we can still compete with every body on our schedule. Does that mean we will beat everybody? No, but we have a chance, and if you don't think we do you're an idiot.

Are you too stupid to realize we were blown out multiple times In 2008?

Of course it's not realistic, but stupidity is no impediment to being an LSU fan.

Stop. You keep saying this in different ways. Unless you go back and watch the games, you're speaking based on some stupid notion you built in your head. The two decent teams we played that year both dropped 50+ on us. Troy put up 31, and a major comeback late saved LSU from too much embarrassment. Go look at the numbers, and they're just as bad or worse then than now. Those are with experienced players too. This is just this year's way of trying to make it seem like the program is doomed. Let it go. Good teams occasionally lose.

Not on the defense. UF got a pick six, like almost every other team we played that year. The 2008 defense was a lot better.

No. I remember that. If we'd had this year's offense in 2008, we would have either gone undefeated or 11-1 with a loss to Florida. 1998 and 2013 are the same season. A great offense ruined by the worst possible defense.

2008 Fla was a great team and the offense didn't help.

Now 1998 D might give 2013 a run.

I'd rather the 2008 defense. Chavis is good, but he has shite to work with. Malveto sucked, but they had good players to work with. The latter is better than the former.
