If we’re planning out playing press man, I expect to see a lot go wrong once again. I definitely don’t want to see one of our DB’s following a receiver to the other side of the field pre snap. It’s just going to cause confusion, and get our men out of place. I actually seen pig cage run into one our LB’s trying to cross the field following a man.

From the looks of it, we play better staying at home and letting our CB’s see the play happen in front of them. Stingley and ricks definitely were more involved. If we do that, I’m at ease.

The only problem I see is the LT problem besides running man. Hill was HORRIBLE. On the drive when Bech caught his touchdown, he was getting blown off the ball and on his bottom. If he’s starting, we’re in trouble. Got to try someone else

Pretty sure rush 3 and drop 8 is the Pirates Achilles heal (if you can get moderate pressure with 3).

Honestly there shouldn’t be any fricking confusion in man.

Our issues last year were guys just getting beat.

Our issues this year have been in zone.

Our D line is tailored to play this type of offense. Get pressure with 3-4 DL and play zone. We have the DL bodies to rotate and keep fresh

You’d have to have a defensive back coach that knew what the shite he was doing.

I agree, but will they drop in zone or have LBs matched up with RBs when they are WAY out of position to cover?

Show me a single year where his arse wasn’t protected by someone else and he ran a good defensive backfield. There was none because last year it was his first year of doing things by himself. Look at what Aranda had to do and bringing in another coach because Raymond was fricking horrible. He is a great recruiter but a horrible Xs & Os coach.

Those two things do not make you a great coach. Do you need both to be great. I’m not sure if he’s a C level coach.

That’s why I only mentioned the D line and not the coaching strategy or LBers

No freaking man. Keep them in front of you. Make tackles. Eventually they will turn it over.

Fact still remains we still get confused and clogged up when crossing routes and strategized bunch formations come into play

That's the issue... a DB and 2 LBs covering the S, who is out of position anyway, on left side of hashes while RB/TE are waaaay on other side of field all alone.

What I've seen is zone where back 7 don't pass off receivers out of their zone properly and don't drop off to cover their AO.

Why do rub routes when the first guy through acts like a sticky trap for every coverer he crosses in front off. Guy in trailing route can't even see numbers he's so alone.

That should be the game plan, but the LBs have got to plug the holes on run plays. If the RBs run at Clark he just disappears and has no instincts. LB contain the run, and LSU will be fine.

Safeties and LBs are way to prone to blowing coverages to play them zone. They’re the worst rushing team in the SEC, man up, pin your ears back and go hit the QB.

You are about to see 45 crossing routes, in front of the linebackers, causing mass confusion as has been shown in previous games as well as the game against this very same team last year, by MSU if we sit back in zone.

Play man. Get in their face. Don’t get beat or we lose.

Simple.
