Floyd over Little at the moment for me. Think Floyd is on the verge on smthg. And he started here. He gets my nod

I’d be suprised if Shores and Noot start this year. They can definitely get some great experience as extended mid relief this year and be ready to start next year tho.

there are the four guys that i think are in the mix also. it's not perfect as Hurd has the back injury to overcome and Little struggled last year. i suspect we'll be giving the JUCO transfers and some of our new signing class a close look.

Fall competition is going to be intense. We went from having 1 starter who would usually be a Sunday guy to having 4-5 options for Sunday.

Really hope Floyd can pick up where he left off.

I’d guess some combo of Floyd/Hurd/Skenes with Taylor and Little battling for the midweek spot… although I’m really curious if the latter still catches.

I’d love to see Skenes hit for himself when he’s pitching.

Taylor has also been reported as “unhittable” in the Cape this year. He could very well take that Sunday spot as well.

Yeah I’d have him at midweek right now but he could easily be a weekend guy.

All we can really guess is that Skenes will start one of the weekend games. I think Floyd has an inside track at a weekend spot, too, given his performance down the stretch. Too many other unknowns otherwise still. Hurd may not be fully recovered. Little may take some more time to get fixed - or, he may just end up being a valuable pen arm for now. Taylor is rising but we don't know if they plan on him as a starter or reliever. Shores and Noot are obviously talented but true freshman - Noot seems more polished as far as factoring in as a starter, but Shores' ceiling is also really high. You have some lefties that could factor in (Herring, Bronzini, Ackenhausen). Dutton and Lansville could still be in the convo. Gotta figure out Money's role.

If all at full strength, your realistic weekend starters include 3 of Hurd, Skenes, Little, Floyd. I know everyone wants to list Taylor here, but he could also be a really valuable pen arm like Reyz was.

Which game Skenes pitches will probably be week to week based on matchups. I'm sure they want to have him in the lineup alot, but may use different combinations against RHP to get LH bats in there, use Skenes as a RH PH, and simultaneously give Skenes some rest for the mound.

Was also going to say how well Taylor is doing at the Cape. And also how excited Wes seems to be to work with him

Skeenes already said on Hunt and Hill that he is here to pitch (as a starter) and DH on his off days. He will be an emergency catcher at most

Gotcha, thanks for the info. Hopefully either Neal or Frey is a revelation or the rest of the lineup is so good we can live with Milazzo in the 9 spot for his defense.

The thing about Skenes is that Milazzo could catch and he could DH

Likely? No. Sexy? Yes

We probably can live with Milazzo in the 9 spot. Neal will play...alot...especially against RHP. He's a dude. I don't think Frey and Jones will be ready just yet, but may see some action midweek even if at another position (OF, 1B, DH). Mostly to see if they can swing it well enough to be PH options. Both are freaks, but just not very polished yet - think of a bigger Travinski but looser and more athletic, that's Frey and Jones (Frey is more athletic than Jones).

Taylor won't be a midweek guy. He either starts on the weekend or he's one of your primary relievers
