Pitcher’s watches

Noticed our pitchers are looking at their Apple (?) watches before each pitch. Are they getting pitch calls or just using as timers ?

Not apple watches, specific watches that signal the pitch.

A better joke would've been to use the Red Sox, since they actually used watches to cheat the same time the Astros were cheating. But, shockingly, that wasn't made as big of a deal.
