re: Phil Steele leaves out LSU and Texas A&M from his preseason too 25
Phil Steele also has a 500 page book with 300 pages saying how good he is because 10 years ago he got a pick correct. He is also notorious for picking something yet the end of the season still managing to get all 4 teams correct in the playoff without picking a single one. He is a notorious pick changed and a look at me ‘journalist’ , can’t take this clown serious.

Great! Then we should be in the top 10 after week 1 when we kick Miami’s arse being that they are number 7.

Unless we skull frick them into oblivion, merely beating them wouldn’t even see us jumping them in the rankings. Just watch. We’ll get zero respect regardless of how good we are because everyone in the media thinks O is a joke.

He's only trying to sell suscrptions. Who cares about the pre season rankings. Lsu simply needs to win, and the rest will take cate of itself. For the record, why is every "analyst" in love with Auburn? Do they realize who the coach is?

We are 20-25 max. I don’t really care about pre-Season/Week 1 ranking as it’s pointless.

Isn't that the guy who:
literally wrote the book on HUNH,
coached in 3 wins over rival Bama this decade,
coached in 3 Div Title seasons this decade,
coached in 2 SEC Champ seasons,
coached 2 NCGs this decade?

No way he deserves praise over Orgeron, smdh.

He has a weird formula. He says lsu is a top 25 power team, but because of their brutal schedule he is leaving them out. So he rewards teams with weak schedules. Who cares, but kind of stupid. Rank the teams based on talent not on the schedule.

Oh so he was head coach?

You are comical on this site with your hate for O. Say hello to Les for me please.

Exactly. You can't rank a team lower because of games you THINK they MAY lose in the future. Rank them as to how good you think they are at the time of the rankings.

Lmao. For one, this isn't the real top 25. Lsu will likely come in around 18 or so. Phil said he thinks they will struggle with the schedule so he left them our. For two, if lsu fricks up Miami, you bet your arse they will jump them and move way up. It is the unknown on offense holding them back right now. If the offense shows up, everyone knows this team will be lethal. But, you keep on believing the O angle. Hell, the conference commissioner may override an 8-0 sec team and put bama in the sec champ game instead because he doesn't believe in O.

It’s a prediction of where LSU finishes, not how good they are. Technically, you could be the tenth best team in the country but if you play the number 1,3,5,7, and 9th ranked teams in the country and lose to them, you will have 5 losses and not be ranked in the top 25. Steele thinks we’re losing to 5 teams on our schedule that he ranks higher than us. (Miami, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Miss St)

Check out some of these teams and the Vegas odds to win it all. Quite a contrast. His ranking are largely based on schedule and where he thinks a team will end up. It ain't happening with Texas, but obviously they have a very weak schedule compared to lsu.

He also keeps playing the inexperience card...saying only 10 starters return. But we also have transfers that have started before, and many of our backups started games last year and appear to be upgrades over those they replace. Then you have burrow, who many believe will be an upgrade over Danny, even though he has never started. While Phil acknowledges some of these transfers, and backups, he didn't change his formula....which gives no credit to prior starts or transfer starters. This is where a computer fails....but I doubt Phil had that much time with so many teams.

LSU isn't going to get much preseason respect for the same reason that "the haters gonna hate." All they have to do is win to change that perception. It seems like every season 1 or 2 teams end up in the top 10 after being unranked before the season. No reason LSU can't be that team this year.

It finally happened. For years now LSU has been over-ranked just because of who they were. "They have Les Miles, they have all this NFL talent, they always win 9-10 games", etc. Now we aren't getting the benefit of the doubt. We can't get by on having a previously successful coach. We can't get by on 4th best talent in the country. We can't get by on known commodities like Fournette and Guice.

I've looked at so many different predictions and no where have I seem us been placed higher than 8-4

But, you keep on believing the O angle.

It’s not an “angle”. He’s our head coach. He has a lot to prove whether you want to believe it or not. Accordingly, LSU also has a lot to prove, because he’s the one steering the ship. It’s not complicated nor is it some kind of widespread personal vendetta against O.
