Phil Simms "Joe Burrow doesn't have an elite arm". I turned it off as soon as that was said.
Phil Simms is the greatest QB to have ever played, according to Phil Simms.

I don't care how Simms sugar coats it. Simms clearly said that Joe, "doesn't have an elite arm."
And Simms is right! Why are you butthurt over it? Jamarcus had elite arm strength and what the hell did that do for him?
Simms and little Simms both praised Burrow in the interview, geesh!

Phil and his son are little botch arse haters. They think down-playing everyone else makes them look good. Phil was a tough player, but his son was an absolute pussy out there.

There’s a long list of Hall of Fame quarterbacks that don’t have elite arms. Joe Burrow has more than enough arm to play in the NFL. If that’s the only complaint they can find at all on him, Cincinnati needs to turn in their card right now.

I’ve watched Joe Burrow throw 40 plus scrambling left and throwing back across the field and hit receivers in stride multiple times.
Haskins threw every pass as hard as he *could. However, Burrow beat Haskins in long throw competitions every time they went head-to-head (half times every OSU Spring Game)
*the way Urban Meyer coached him to

Here are the qbs I can recall that were considered to have elite arm strength when they were drafted:
Bradshaw
Elway (won at the twilight of his career - arm strength had deteriorated)
Favre
I might have missed one or two but it's pretty far down the list of super bowl winning attributes.
Peyton Manning I think too.

Have you ever seen when Phil Simms ranks QBs. He constantly shits on Brees. He doesn’t know anything.

A little better arm strength than Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, and Alex Smith. No way JB has the zip of Manning, Brady, and Brees in their prime.

having a cannon isn't a must in the NFL, Burrow is perfectly suited to have success in the NFL, Peyton Manning won his last Super Bowl pretty much without an arm

He can't relate to the new Spread offenses, and the skillsets needed to run them.
There's a reason Coach E brought in Brady. E had no clue about how to run the new Spreads (and E freely admits it)

Brees or Romo didn't have elite arms either. They did fine.

wouldn't go that far, his legacy with the Cowboys is his last contract, would probably make a good OC, should never have set foot on the field as an NFL qb, imo

I would submit that there is a base level of arm strength one must have to be an “elite” quarterback and that anything beyond that is pretty meaningless, or at least nothing more than marginally meaningful. A simple glance at “elite” quarterbacks historically proves this out, as illustrated here by others.
If anything, I would submit that those on the higher end of arm strength, more often than not tend to be somewhat reckless gunslinger types rather than elite quarterbacks.

I disagree. He has the same zip as Manning and Brees.
I don’t know why anyone even cares. Arguably the biggest arm to ever go into the NFL was also the biggest bust. LSU fans should be familiar with our previous #1 overall draft pick QB.

Ahhh, does Brees have an "elite" arm?

So, does "elite" mean Jamarcus Russel is a better prospect???
Lot of hot air.

Who has elite arm strenth? Just for the sake argument.
I remember someone who had it, got drafted, got paid. Spent his weekends watching blank film and enjoyed an occasional purple beverage.
