On a basic level, without bothering with Python and/or R, I would begin utilizing the simplicity of just filling out the web based queries and downloading the sheets and experimenting with the data from there.
You can basically download all of LSU’s 2018 play by play data with 13 quick queries and drop it into an excel workbook and setup a quick pivot table to do some serious messing around. You’ll quickly realize your thirst for more when you see the possibilities.
Be weary of the time stamps. I got burned by them once (see my failed SECr topic).
