In reality, Miles has done a good job managing a talent like Fournette. He is right where he should be on touches a game. Leonard probably wants the ball more but he is being managed properly.

Fournette- 18 games, 306 touches, 17 a game

Herschel Walker- 3 years, 33 games, 994 touches, 30 a game
LaDamien Tomlinson- 4 years, 45 games, 943 touches, 20 a game
Rickey Williams- 4 years, 46 games, 1011 touches, 21 a game
Tony Dorsett- 4 years, 47 games, 1163 touches, 24 a game
Dalton Hillard- 4 years, 44 games, 882 touches, 20 a game
Kevin Faulk- 4 years, 41 games, 856 touches, 20 a game (plus 61 kick returns)
Marcus Lattimore- 3 years, only 29 games (injuries), 555 touches, 19 a game
Emmit Smith- 3 years, 31 games, 700 touches, 22 a game

And the most used Rb in college Football
Ron Dayne- 4 years, 47 games, 1220 touches, 25 a game.

My point is he is being used just like some of the other best Rb's in the game. He is no longer returning kicks and seems to be limited to the right amount of carries. (He going to have three years worth) I bet it's hard not to give him the ball 30 times a game with his talent but LSU seems to be showing the right amount of restraint.

This is all propaganda to derail the LSU momentum before the Bama game. To stop LF, start some drama within the program.

Old school tactic

that is total horse shite. Williams is at least the equal of Derrick Henry who IS a Primary RB for a Top level SEC PROGRAM. Williams runs much harder than Henry, has better vision, and is just as fast. If Williams were at any other program in the SEC, other than Gerogia (prior to Chubb getting Hurt), he would be the starter.

Sounds like people are more concerned about their "meal ticket."

LF is just going to have to find a way to say no when he gets to that point where he gets stretched.

What is he averaging? 20 carries a game? Not a bad load.

This isn't prep for NFL. This is LSU football and they're playing to win a championship.

They don't want him getting it 30 times a game

Considering he has never ran the ball 30 times in a game while at LSU that seems to be a strange concern.

He's averaging 23.8 carries per game this year.

It really is.

First, there was the story about if he will sit out next year. That came out of nowhere with no basis in reality.

Now, it's on to his camp thinks he is getting to many carries. It's completly natural to worry about injuries but number of carries has no relation to injuries. Especially major knee injuries.

This seems odd media members keep coming up with these stories. Fournette seems to be a great teammate and I find it hard to believe any of this is coming from him.

reason for these stories is because he's exceptional, and people have to invent new angles to cover the exceptional besides, "wow, he good."

I think he averages around 20-22 the rest of the way in the SEC, and probably only 10-12 carries against WKU.
