So sad when people in a "camp" who are only looking out for someone in regards to money begin manipulating people.
I hope Leonard does what he feels is best for him and not what leaches want

I don't buy this report.

I think Fournette has been managed appropriately in support of the teams efforts to win. When the game is no longer in doubt, he goes to the bench. That is why he sat most of the 2nd half in the Carolina game, 4th quarter E Michigan, etc.

They're probably more worried about the money he's gonna make in the NFL than he is. That's a shame.

Here's the thing, without the touches he doesn't get his name in the headlines like it is now. But something tells me that Leonard will get as many touches as he wants. And he's all about helping the team win and that's what's so good about him.

What happened on Jan 22? Did LSU lose to UGA in basketball?

What is sad about it?

It wouldn't be sad if a professional athlete and his loved ones were concerned about this.

There is literally nothing wrong with them not wanting him to be over-used while playing for free and helping LSU.

he's not playing "for free." He's getting a full ride scholarship.

Also getting use of LSU's multi-multi-million dollar facilities and coaching staff. Getting massive exposure through LSU/SEC/CBS/ESPN to showcase his skills and attract attention from the NFL.

He's getting a hell of a lot in return. By the way, no one is holding a gun to his head to play, he can quit at any time if he believes he's not getting enough in return from LSU for his efforts.

Fournette's camp =\= Fournette.

Fournette's camp is worried about their bell cow getting nicked. They have a vested interest in making sure he gets paid so they can get a piece of the action.

Leonard would run the ball every single down if he could. He wants to win.

Great!

He's never gotten it 30 times in a game, so they must be satisfied.

He averages 24 carries per game -- that means if we go to the SECCG plus two playoff games (max) he'll tote the ball roughly 336 times in the season. In Adrian Peterson's first year of college, he ran 339 times in 13 games. He seems to be doing fine.

What exactly does that mean?

At what point is he considered "over-used?"

screw the Heisman, this is this man's future job we're talking about.

The Heisman is one of LF's goals. Why would he give up on it just because you would rather see him in the pros? He's enjoying his college experience along with Ben Simmons. They both realize (according to Simmons) there is a difference between going to college and going to work and they know they will eventually go to work to play football and basketball. You never get the college experience back.

Just how much money comes with that Heisman because all I see the winner getting at the ceremony is a trophy.

At this point, Fournette, is not thinking about the money like so many. He wants to win the Heisman. Does what he wants matter anymore?

There is no comparison between the monetary benefit these athletes provide for the NCAA and the monetary benefit they get in return.

The NCAA is one possible way to develop and vet talent for professional sports. It's not the most efficient way and certainly not the only way.

You can't even pretend to not understand how someone like Fournette is getting shortchanged.

And no he can't quit without doing major damage to his earnings potential, because the NCAA is an oligarchy.

I understand why people try to justify the system that brings them so much entertainment, but it's really not even debatable in the case of someone like Fournette.

What purpose does it serve to come out with this.
Shame on Ben Love.
Although I did wonder why he shut it down so early in the South Carolina game because that game was still close or within striking distance in the 3rd quarter when he came out.

If he doesn't get enough carries, Les would be accused of "running the ball by committee" and being a stubborn a-hole, not giving LF7 a legit chance to win the Heisman.

Wasn't there another thread or article where LF or his parents suggested that they wanted him to get the carries so he could win the NC and Heisman?

So which is it? Seems like a BS story and/or a no win situation for Les... unless we win it all.

I'd prefer him to be walking upright when he leaves LSU rather than win some stupid, god damned award that means nothing.

I guess it just shocked me a little that people other than the coaching staff and Leonard are having any kind of a say on his carries

Les Miles, Cam Cameron, Frank Wilson and Leonard Fournette are the only four people that have any say on how many times he will touch the ball.
