I know they said it was the first time in TD Ameritrade someone has hit 2HRs in one game, but any clue if anyone has ever hit one from each side of the plate in a CWS game?

I'd say that's a first if I had to guess.

Pretty awesome either way.

Two HRs in a CWS game is rare.
Hitting them on both sides of the plate is rarer !!!

There won't be another one for a looooong time.

Both home runs were in near identical spots on opposite sides of the field almost mirrors

nola.com says Pap is the seventh player to hit 2 home runs in the same game in TD Ameritrade Stadium.

He is the only one to do it in a CWS game played there.

One thing I've learned is these announcers leave things to be implied. It's likely the first time a player has hit 2 HRs in TD Ameritrade in the CWS. Just like with the grand slam...it was not the first in the park, but it was the first in the park in the CWS. They are clearly not good with modifiers, because they keep leaving that tidbit off (unless they are just assuming the viewer understands they mean in the CWS.

I believe someone did share a tweet earlier from someone saying Pap was the first to hit a HR from both sides of the plate in a single game in CWS history.

Impressive.

He hit one batting left handed then he hit one batting right handed in the same game, I doubt 7 people have done that in the CWS

Not according to nola.com but I'll let you argue with them.

Pappy was slap happy: Tigers' catcher Michael Papierski, batting in the eighth hole, was 2-for-11 from the plate in the CWS heading into Saturday's game. And then he chose the perfect time to become the seventh man in the 320-game history of Ameritrade Park to hit two homers in one game.

They literally said, DURING THE BROADCAST, that the last guy to hit 2 HRs in a single CWS game was a TCU player in 2010. That was still Rosenblatt Stadium.

So, they are clearly talking about in the overall history of TD Ameritrade, not just the CWS. He was the first to hit 2 in a game in the CWS in TD.

They "literally" said it? As opposed to figuratively said it?

Oh, well, I guess that settles it then.

I'll call the TP tomorrow and tell them they must be wrong.

No... it is NOT clear at all. Because MiLB is played there.

No, the minor league team in Omaha plays elsewhere. Creighton University plays their home games at TDA

Yeah, they actually did, smartass.

No reason to call them. They didn't say he was the 7th to do it in the CWS at TD.

Incorrect. The Storm Chasers do not play there, and never did. They moved into another stadium when Rosenblatt closed.
