Ensminger is looking solid! Got to give him much respect! Miami and Auburn have great Defenses too

Yep and bringing along a young qb slowly but also giving Joe confidence by letting him throw the ball anywhere on the field. Joe is also leading by his actions and toughness.

The offense is trending up and looking better, every week.

But I'm not going to get overly excited for putting up 500 yards on a team that is giving up an avg of 500 yards.

Next 2 weeks will determine how the offense is coming along.

What was it, 33 first downs?

When's the last time we had that? And when's the last time against a P5 opponent?

That’s actually a positive for us. We’re usually putting up numbers under a teams average. Especially when they’ve faced some stout offenses this year. So we’re at least knocking on the door of having a good to great offense.

I’m getting excited. Too many of years of Les dashing my offensive hopes to get fully excited...but I’m getting there.

I was surprised we put up more yards than Bama did against Ole Miss.

The record for 1st downs in a game is 35 against Miss St in 1969, but that's the only 1st downs record I see in the media guide.

According to NCAA.com, we went from 106 in total offense last week to 77.

This offense is getting better each week. I don't think we should expect to put up 575 yards on most teams, but I think we'll be in the 425-475 neighborhood the remainder of the season. We can win a lot of games with that performance.

For whatever it's worth, we had 7 first downs via penalty and 26 via rush/pass. The last time we had 26 first downs or more via rush/pass was 2016 vs. Texas A&M. Also had 28 vs. Mizzou that year and 28 vs USCe in 2015.

That's pretty impressive since Ole Miss scored first

Against Rice 77-0 when E was the QB and threw 4 TD's. E says someday I will be the OC and we will do it again!

No it wasnt.

Rebs scored on the first play I believe. Loser.

Either way, he was talking about the yards, not points.
