Outside of Bama, we beat every team this year that I really wanted to. It was a good year.

Not thinking about Troy, this was an excellent year for LSU football. The 6-2 SEC record is our best since 2012.

We went 5-3 in the SEC last year with Les’ last clock hurrah at Auburn and the disgusting loss to UF. We beat both of those teams this year in ways that makes you wake up with that kick in the gut the next day this year. Florida was 3-0 in the conference before LSU came in and avenged the hurricane game while Hurricane Nate made landfall in Southeastern Louisiana. 17-16 was a fitting score because that would have been last year had Guice punched it in at home. McElwain ultimately got what he deserved and was fired 2 weeks later. Auburn was coming in really high until LSU played one of the best home comebacks in recent years. That was a total team effort to beat the eventual division champion.

It was great grabbing another win at Ole Miss for the first time since 2011. It was nice pummeling Arkansas two years in a row after they came here in 2015 and flat out embarrassed us. Score should’ve been 38-10 two years in a row if not for Culp missing 2 PATs and a FG. And of course, putting the nail in Sumlin’s coffin was fitting and making Chavis look like a fool.

Satisfying to say we beat Florida, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. I don’t think about Mississippi State like I do about these other schools, so it’s great to have bragging rights. Strange season but not a bad one to win 6/7 SEC games and only lose once after September.
