I saw some good holes opened up by the purple team but the white team struggled. I saw some poor pass blocking by both lines.

maybe we just don't have enough guys for two complete lines but poor pass protection has been a problem for awhile. any thoughts? hell, we didn't get to see much.

Well, 2 of our top 3 OL in Clapp & Weathersby were out, so. . .

ETA - Arden Key was out too, so that would offset their absence some. Clapp being the starting center making the calls is huge. Plus, he played last year w/ only one arm basically.

check your pre judgement at the door man. did ANY QB not look shaky? I have seen Etling enough to know that was not his best performance last night BUT there were not many passes dialed up and Chark seemed to be the only target.

ok, this is LSU. some fans are gonna pull for a QB that does not have the job (even if they have never played a down of college ball). and some fans are going to hate the coaches and some fans ALWAYS are uber critical of whoever is playing QB.

Clapp & Weathersby out with the first team, so then you had two 3rd stringers in with the 2nd unit....let them all get healthy and find your best 8 o-linemen and go from there.

And often on an LSU offense there are real problems and QB has usually been one of them. We wouldn't be in the situation we are currently in if it was just all About demanding the backup get the job.

But it is going to take more than just part of an off season to reverse multiple years of ingrained dysfunction. And A new offense is always harder to implement than a new defense.

According to O it was the total opposite of what happened all spring and that the offense dominated all other scrimmages. Spring games tend to almost always be poor barometers of what's to come anyway IMHO.

One thing is for certain, those wanting to see jet sweeps got plenty of them. We were tackled in the backfield on most of them but we sure ran plenty of them.

I NEVER recalled a spring game where the 1st team offense played against the 1st team defense. If the offense had played against the 2nd team defense and racked up 300 yds we would all be talking about how good the offense was. So at least the coaches and us as fans know where the offense stands. They should now know what to work on. And don't forget that we haven't seen any play of the the 2 freshmen QB's.

Maybe our #1 D front 7 is the best D we will face all year - except for you know who.
