Other than blind support, what has you optimistic about LSU football in 2018?

All I can come up with is Dave Aranda.

LSU playing football signifies that it is football season. I hate when it isn't.

The firing of O and Alleva.

I am excited to see a new QB starting...excited to see new RB's...defense will be great. schedule is exciting...can't wait for LSU/Miami

Coaches that most likely want to keep their jobs
Young talent that gained experience
Great defense
Good possibly great oline
Building depth on both lines
Great WR talent
Potentially 2 great young QBs

Optimistic that Joe Alleva and Coach O will be gone within the next year. Thats the only way to remedy this garbage.

Offensive line should be better - even if we write off Bama, we should be in every other game.
Assuming we drop Miami AND Bama, we could still get to 10 wins.
But, another 9 win season (or worse), with any other signs of regression should be the end of the Orgeron experiment.
We are going to have a tougher time running the ball - at least initially. If the young OL players progress, though, could be minimal. Curry is going to surprise folks, as is CEH.

aranda's defense. When the offense has the ball I will probably look away like I did when miles was here. It's gonna be amazing

Our defense will keep us from being all-out bad. So I guess there's that.

Why is this the goal?

Miami is going to be a preseason top 5 team. What if LSU gets blown out?

I do get to watch the best Linebacker and corner in the country play for us next year.
Cant wait to see # 4 grow as a pass rusher. As well as our stud Sophomore safety.
Our wide receivers should be really good and we MAY have a guy that can sling it.
Look, all those things are truly fun to watch.

We have the best DC in CFB, should have a great D-Line, maybe the best MLB in CFB, and we in all likelihood won't have any secondary problems... Put all that together, and you can probably win 9 games at least by just scoring 20 points.

IMPROVEMENT.
Miles was essentially fired because he could no longer generate his usual 10 (really 11) wins.
O has done 9 interim (for the season, he didn't coach all 9 wins), 9 Season 1, and needs to show 10 for 2018 to show improvement. What about this is complicated? There is a whole thread about it and I don't understand.
10 is more than 9.

What if LSU beats a top 5 team in the opener after all the negativity during the off-season?

QB play can’t be any worse than it’s been in the past decade (sans Mett, Odell, and Jarvis)
I look forward to seeing a new offense, no matter who is running it or what type it is
Defense should be really good, and aranda will be back
It’s always fun to watch the improvement in the second year players. Also, I’m interested in seeing some of our freshman class
And, as a fall back, IF the worst case scenario does come to fruition, brighter days are ahead
I will always look forward to football season with optimism, no matter what happens during the offseason
It’s really not that hard to be optimistic if you give it a shot

But means about the same thing...
We fired Miles because we were no longer competing for championships. 10 wins and we're still not competing for that.
