Good insight, I really hope LSU comes out fast and he does well. If not the know it all crowd with their superior intellects will come out in droves, because a coach who went 10-21 and is one of ours will never be good enough for LSU.

Believe that was me....:-)

When LF played, though he wasn't suppose to, I thought RuhRoh....passion got in the way of logic.

Despite that contest I really hope the best for Coach Orgeron and LSU football..talent and coaching is there, let em play

And as of mid August, 11 players have transferred out, a bit more than usual during a coaching transition.

Also, I don't really think this is true. People just expected a bit less because it wasn't a complete staff overhaul, but I'm not sure that is fair. The offense is completely different and most transfers have come on that side of the ball.

Wow....Saban must have started twitching when he found out Kiffin was recommending O & agreed to go with him to LSU unless he got a head job.

"Never thought it was over after Florida. Really didn’t. That’s the truth," Orgeron says.

The 16-10 loss was, as one LSU fan hollered down at the home sideline that November afternoon, "some Les Miles shite right there."

And since, seven weeks prior, this kind of performance had finally killed Miles, national championship winner, surely the interim coach couldn’t withstand the same blow. Not with a 4-2 résumé and a loss to Alabama, the program’s sixth in a row.

"Thought we had a chance, even after. I promise. Always believed," Orgeron says.

Well of course you're gonna believe when that is what Alleva's telling you.

Nice perspective on how things went down, and it's good to see how much O wanted the job and loves the team.

Still an underlying snideness in the way he's being portrayed, the same as Miles was for his whole time here.
Looking forward to seeing the new team!

Now go win games. No excuses. You inherited the best RB in the country, best DC, and a loaded defense. Overcome the issues on the OL and win games.

Damn, that was a good read. Thanks for the link. Kinda puts some of the speculation to bed.

One thing this article taught me is that Kiffin actually does care about more than just him self. Maybe not a whole lot more, but recommending coach O was not as self-serving as his typical moves have been reported to be.

I wonder if Lane told Joe "I'm coming to LSU if you hire O unless I land a HC job"

Exactly what I yelled at the tv with some m fers laced in there. Then butter teeth did the post game interview with that smarmy yellow grin talking about LSU getting what they deserved. That was a terrible ending. I thought coach O pissed it away.

But that's a great article.
