The fact that he was willing to coach at FAU just to have a coaching job leads me to believe that he was going to exhaust every avenue possible until he was a HC somewhere.

Too bad he didn't have "optimism bias" on the half yard line against Notre Dame.

He did. He kicked the field goal from a bad angle when we hadn't exactly been nailing them while being optimistic that our D would hold them out of the endzone.

Where the OP see "optimism bias", I see a more common malady: poor judgment. And I see it again and again with this guy.

What if Kiffin hadn't been offered the head coaching job, came here and landed Tua?

How about make quiet overtures to Tua, and only go public when Kiffen is locked up? That’s an aggressive approach that still gives us a safe fallback.

Let me give YOU a hypothetical. What if Narcisse and Brennan had remained pissed and signed elsewhere. We would be entering 2018 with Mcmillan and, presumably, a freshman.

I upvoted because it was funny, but perhaps he had optimism bias in thinking his defense would hold.

Proved that O is a bigger idiot than I thought. we are so fooked more so than I what I thought last year. And I honestly I don't see LSU being relevant for at least 5-7 years. You have a douche AD, and Dr Jeykell and Mr. Hyde LSU President and the absolute worst coaching hire in the LSU modern history. This is the worst situation I have seen LSU minus the early 90's. Why I say 4-5 years... Louisiana will have to vote out Governor Edwards because He doesn't give a flying fook about LSU or LSU football. Edwards and F King both were on the record saying CFB needs a salary cap for coaches. We are the laughing stock. If LSU TAF called me today and they requested $5000 from me to help get rid of O, I would glady pay it. I despise him. This is not his dream job. He is conman and is just there to get him, his family and his buds rich off the LSU fan.
