Opponent mentality vs. LSU

How much of what is being perceived as "defensive woes" is actually due to the mindset of the offensive coaches when they face LSU. With the old offense, opposing teams didn't have to worry about scoring a ton. You'd mostly see teams play conservatively as a result, trying not to turn the ball over and give our awful offense a short field. Now, they know they are going to have to put up points, resulting in less-conservative play calling and an overall different game strategy when facing us.
For the record, I'm in the minority that thinks the defense has been playing well (see halftime adjustments against Florida and redzone defense in general, esp. vs. Texas).

statistically the defense is not that bad.
I think it looks worse because we don't get enough stops on 3rd down, especially those long ones.
I agree generally, though, our defense is not that bad and, every day and in every way, is getting better and better.

Yeah we also generally give up 1 long drive/TD a game in junk time where we play super soft prevent defense and let the clock run.

I think it looks worse because
14 against Northwestern State and 38 versus Vanderbilt. If it weren't for those two scores, nobody would be saying shite about the defense.

Eh people would still complain,
We gave up 38 to Texas so people will never for get it.
The numbers really aren’t that bad. We’re a top 25 defense

Total Defense #24. Auburn is #23, Florida is #25’
Rushing Defense #10 Auburn is #12, Florida #33
Scoring defense #26, Auburn is #16, Florida is # 11
Here is our weak spot.
Passing yards allowed #70, Auburn is not much better #68 (1.4 YPG difference). Florida is #32
I use Florida as a comparison because Florida’s defense looked more problematic to LSU’s offense than Auburn’s looks to me. We shall see.
I think LSU rolls once again.

My lingering questions are:
1. does Gus have enough film & creativity to scheme successfully against our D?
2. If so, does AU have the hosses to execute?
