One of my favorite LSU Tiger Baseball Players - Jared Mitchell

I still remember sitting down the 1st base line near right field in Rosenblatt Stadium and watching Jared Mitchell help LSU to their last national championship and win MVP of the College World Series. My wife even met Jared's Dad during the game and still counts that as one of her baseball highlights as he showed her his son's football national championship ring.

Played vs Jared in a high school baseball tournament and will never forget how great this guy was. Had maybe 15 scouts there watching him. We had our fastest guy up to bat. Mitchell was playing center at the time. Our player hits a shot in right center. Normally this would be a double 99% of the time for our guy, bur Jared had other plans. His freak ability to close in on the ball and throw one of the best throws to 2nd was crazy!!! No high school kid have I seen in person still till this day had the overall skills he had.

What a classy guy. No bitterness, just hardworking and humble. THIS is a Tiger that should be celebrated.

One time he came out to a practice that I was at with a bunch of other 8th graders and beat everybody in a race....running backwards. Dude beat the shite out of everybody while he was backpedaling, he is such a freak athlete in real life
