One could bet we go to 4-3 defense next year, based on 2020 depth

Not sure we make the full time switch to a 4-3, but one I thing I would expect is for the new DC to use a more aggressive scheme and utilizes a DL rush more than Aranda did.

Might be wrong, but generally DCs don't change their scheme for the personnel. I don't see Aranda doing that as much sense as it makes.

Shelvin and Ika at the DT positions would be pretty damn scary for any offensive line. I wanted to see that some this season, to be honest. Good luck running up the middle with those two on the inside.

I think part of the reason for the scheme this year was to have the DL to keep the LB freed up to have them make plays. We had two special LB in Queen and Phillips. Those dudes are going to ball out in the league.

Next year ur strength will be the DL so it makes sense to take advantage of your strengths. I think we will be fine on Defense.

How about we hire the best DC we can first and ask him what he wants to run, seems logical.

We're in nickel the majority of the time we're playing anyways, never understood the 4-3 vs. 3-4 arguments recently.

Not sure.

I keep reading here that he’s going to play defense and he’s a bit heavy for what I know to be a safety.

Yeah, LSU played under the premise of a 3-4 but usually had Chaisson on LOS, so essentially you had 4 down linemen, he just didn't have his hand in the dirt much. With the spread concepts, defenses may be in base 3-4 or 4-3, but that is changed or dictated by offensive sets/formations and down and distances.
