... we should do this:

C Feduccia
1B Bryce
2B Broussey
SS Hughes
3B Smith
DH Slaughter
LF Cabrera/Webre whoever is hottest
CF Watson
RF Duplantis
Bench: BoJo

Really looking forward to the future with this lineup. We're setting ourselves up for max success with this one. I think Beau gives us the more by sitting next to Mainieri and being a coach-player-cheerleader than he does in Left. I can totally see him becomming the next Guillot. GEAUX TIGRES! BEAT HAWAI'I!

Can't say I agree with benching a guy batting .400 with 3 homers.

I really haven't seen anything from Cabrera to make me think he can hit SEC pitching consistently

He will have to earn it

So you have beau Jordan on the bench? Our second best batting average and probably our best hitter so far this year... makes sense

Swap Slaughter to 1B and Beau to DH and I'm good with that.. although I think Smith ends up back at Short and Hughes could potentially slide to 3B.

I'll take a fire Beau Jordan or #professionalhitterChrisReid
rather than a struggling whiny Slaughter

He's reached base at least twice in each of the last 6 games. Two of those games he reached base 3 times.

So you want a dude who is leading the team in HR’s and hitting over 400 on the pine?

Do us all a favor and don’t try to think anymore.

It will work itself out. The best 9 will emerge and we’ll have some badasses ready to come in and PH. As of today my guess is:

C: Hunter
3B: Jake
SS: Josh
2nd: Broussard
1st: Bryce
LF/DH: Beau/Cabrera
CF: Watson
RF: Duplantis

I wouldn’t surprised if Hal stayed at short, josh kicked to 3rd and Slaughter went to 1st.

Everything depends on how these guys swing the bat in SEC play.

I assure you that if Bryce and Slaughter are occupying DH and 1st it will be Slaughter on 1st.

Also, Hal Hughes average is likely to drop like a rock when the pitching improves. I like him on defense, and I think he’ll eventually be a good hitter, but he’s not ready for SEC pitching.

Slaughter is comming along. I think DH is best for him so he doesn't have to focus on the field. ALso, Bryce is 1st team all sec caliber 1B right now. His scopps have won us games.

Webre/Cabrera are intimidating leftys and its not like Beau hasn't been good. He's good. But he has a better attitude than everyone and I think it would provide a spark for our bench. The Bench is a position too for those of you whom have not played the game. He will do well to boost the younger players with more potential.

People also discount the weirdness of DHing, and how both the Jordan brothers are capable of it. It's not the easiest thing to be completely disengaged from the game action except for the 3-5 times you get to the plate each game. Beau does it well, so let him keep doing it.

Also, we won't have to worry about this for at least another month. Smith was disallowed from doing any athletic activity for a month. So he's going to take a little bit of time once he's even cleared to get back into game shape. Let's say everything goes as well as humanly possible and he is cleared 1 month from diagnosis and can play immediately: That would be the Vandy series. At Vandy.

Let's say he's cleared in 1 month but takes a week to get back: Mississippi St series.

What if there is a setback and he's not cleared until Diagnosis + 5 weeks, plus a week to get in shape: A&M series, on the road.

I don't think it's actually reasonable to expect him back until the Mizzou series the next week, but the Tennessee series might be the most likely.

Jake is one of the best defenders on our team.

So you honest to god believe that we should take a guy that’s batting 400 and put him on the bench for morale?

No way you believe that stupid shite. Has to be a troll.

Well no shite, there will always be someone at the top of the list. But what happens when their best isn't as good as his best? Then you just sat a guy for no reason and the team got worse overall.

Ground breaking logic.

We should have put Guice on the bench because his attitude was so good. I mean, someone else would lead the team in rushing if Guice didn’t play.
