LSU 12 #5 Auburn 6

First game in Tiger Stadium with LSU wearing white since 1982.Auburn came into the game in the top 5. Sign of the times, game was not on TV. This clip is from the Pay per view offered by Auburn. Note Auburn QB #10 is Patrick Nix, dad of current starting Auburn QB Bo Nix, #10. Also, the play by play guy is Andy Burcham, who is now their radio pbp guy after the tragic death of Rod Bramlett.

DiNardo wasn't the most likable guy in the world and the 1999 season was a disaster. But considering where we had been for the last 6 seasons, this remains one of my favorite games to have attended. The atmosphere was incredible that night. After this game we were in the top 25 for the first time since Week 2 of the 1989 season.

I’m a 90’s kid so I’ll always associate the purple jerseys with Hallman. No thanks.

been a fan since’48. Don’t know what uniforms they wore then but the white jerseys are the only mental image I’ve ever had of the team.

Was listening to this game on the radio. Troy Twillie's interception in the end zone.

Who would have imagined that Jamie Howard, who had such a humiliating outing just a year earlier, would have led the Tigers to such an important win!

This game embodied everything great about LSU football.

True. Students carried him off the field. Great scene.

That game shouldn’t have come down to the last play. Howard threw an INT down near the Auburn endzone (deja Vu from the year before) and we missed 2 FGs.

Man those were some good days coming back from the dead of Archer and Hallman. And that is what a crowd is supposed to be like. Young people, this is what a crowd looked like pre corporate seats and pre cell phones. I never missed a game during that brutal stretch of losing seasons. This game to me meant a great deal. Good times.

this was right in the middle of my illustrious collegiate career. very much recall the excitement coming back to that stadium. Me and my friend Jim Beam enjoyed those games!

The "LSU" at mid field makes me want to puke.....

That was in the days before SECN, all the ESPN channels, etc. I listened to the game on WRNO Worldwide shortwave radio! It was the only way for me to get the game. It faded in and out the whole game. But, the last two plays came in loud and clear. The words "Intercepted by Twillie!" were sweet as sugar to my ears. I felt then that DiNardo had "Brought Back the Magic".

Our whites with gold helmets and pants are some of the most recognized and aesthetically pleasing uniforms in “all” of Football.

That should never change
