(1) Every national champion from 2005-2012 (except 2007) and 2015-2018. The only reason why we did not beat the 2007 National champion, is because we were the 2007 national champion. Feels good to say it!

(2) Five powerhouse programs with at least one national championship and two national championship game appearances in the past 20 years.

(2) 2 coaches with more that one national championships, including the most successful coach of the modern CFB era with 6 national championships.
(3) 3 top teams by a minimum of 17 pts. Actually #3 (17 pts), #4 (35 pts) and #5 (27 pts).
(4) 4 top teams by a minimum of 14 pts. #9 (14 pts)
(5) 6 top 25 teams.
(6) One of these included a win over a mega dynasty team with 5 national championships in the past decade.

Many have compared us to 2001 Miami, 1994 Nebraska and 1995 Nebraska arguing they were the better team. Here are similar metrics:

2001 Miami team beat #13 Florida State, #15 Syracuse, #11 Washington, #14 Virginia Tech and #4 Nebraska for the national championship. This included 1 top 5 & top 10 team, Nebraska (1994, 1995 and 1997 national champions). Another powerhouse program was Florida state ( 1993 and 1999 national champion). So they beat the 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 1999 national champions and 2 national championship winning coaches. Impressive but not like the 2019 LSU tigers.

1995 Nebraska beat #8 Kansas State, #7 Colorado, #10 Kansas and #2 Florida. Kansas and Kansas State are hardly CFP powerhouses and true Colorado did win the 1990 national championship, by they are hardly a CFB powehouse. The win over #2 Florida was impressive though. So total 1 top 5 and 4 top 10 teams and 1 CFB powerhouse. 1 quality win. Impressive but not even close to LSU 2019.

1994 Nebraska beat #24 West Virginia, #13 UCLA, #16 Kansas State, #2 Colorado and #3 Miami, 1 powerhouse (Miami), 2 quality wins (Miami and Colorado), 2 top 5 and top 10 wins, 5 top 25 wins. Impressive but not even close to LSU 2019.

The team will age very well because of the way a lot of these players will perform in the NFL. Especially if Burrow ends up an elite franchise QB. That Miami team has aged well because people look at their roster in the prism of their NFL careers. Years down the line when Burrow, Clyde, Chase, Shelvin, Stingley etc. are consistent pro bowlers, people will combine that and the accomplishment during the season and call this the greatest team of all time.
